I don't understand why he could never make it in the NHL. He was a record setting goalie in the Russian Super League. Of course, that's also a very defensive minded league, but still.

This is a great pickup for the Oilers. Especially after all they lost yesterday. Garon was basically splitting time In LA. And he played really well. Despite the fact that he had a poor Kings squad in front of him. He will be a really solid backup for the Oilers.

Me neither. Too bad if he can't find an NHL job, I see him as a good goalie who has never had a real chance to be the go-to goalie. Save for the Cup finals last year when he replaced Roloson and played pretty damn well.
