Most of those guys, no, are not vital to our success. Lang though will leave a huge void that NEEDS to be filled and cant be filled by the likes of rookies and/or prospects. We need a forward......maybe not a top guy, but someone to fill Lang's shoes. I mean, we probably wouldn't have even made it to the third round if it wasnt for Lang's shot with 30 sec. left in SJ. Like I said, we need a 2nd line forward........after that I'll be content.

Lang has hands... when he wants to use them. I'm really glad that he is gone, he is a huge floater and rarely lays a hit on anyone. I think that any of our young guys could replace his easily, but I would still prefer to get a secondary-scorer via free agency.

Ok how about this. Seems how the Ducks are blowing their wad all over the place and nabbing our players. how about the Wings atleast try this.

Dustin Penner is a RFA his current salary is like a league minimum 450,000. Say the Wings give him an reasonable offer sheet for both parties (Wings&Penner) and offer him in the range of 2-4million per season for two years. Let's see if we can either get a rising young star or push the Ducks closer to the ceiling by forcing them to match our offer!!!
