Brad Ference is a minor-leaguer. His brother Andrew is the NHL defenseman.

Brad Ference is a Wing? Woah!

Now, if this guy could improve his skating, he'd be great here! He's a good physical defenseman, and fights a lot too. He needs to get a lot better if he's going to make the team though. As a former pretty high first round pick back in 1997, he has the ability to do so.

I hope the Wings give this guy a chance. We'll see.

Ference has played over 250 NHL games. That's pretty decent.

I hope this is true! I'd love to see Babcock fit him in there as a replacement for Markov. He'd be a great fit back on the blueline as a #6 guy.

I hope they were both signed for cheap. They sound useless, and we need all the space we can get for some forwards.

Weird , They havent shown up on TSN's FA Tracker.

Brad Ference , Yes Please!

That is because neither Brad Ference or Berkhoel are listed as Free Agents.

(EDIT: Forget about that quote originally in here - need to double check before I post next time >_<)

As for the differences between nhl.com and tsn.ca: Smile and wave, boys... (Let's see what happens)

Brad Ference is a minor-leaguer. His brother Andrew is the NHL defenseman.

...you may be right about Andrew, but this IS the Brad Ference that we think it is...

ANDREW Ference played in 250 games. We got his brother, Brad.

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?i...amp;hubname=nhl

This is the guy everyone is thinking it is. 250 games played...

27-Jul-06: Signed as an unrestricted free agent by the Calgary Flames.

25-Nov-05: New Jersey Devils traded Pascal Rheaume, Ray Schultz and Steven Spencer to the Phoenix Coyotes for Brad Ference.

08-Mar-03: Florida Panthers traded Brad Ference to the Phoenix Coyotes for Darcy Hordichuk and a 2nd round selection (later traded to Tampa Bay - Tampa Bay selected Matt Smaby) in 2003.

17-Jan-99: Vancouver Canucks traded Pavel Bure, Bret Hedican and Brad Ference and a 3rd round selection (Robert Fried) in 2000 to the Florida Panthers for Dave Gagner, Ed Jovanovski, Mike Brown, Kevin Weekes and a 1st round selection (Nathan Smith) in 2000.

21-Jun-97: Drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the 1st round (10th overall) in 1997.

...doesn't sound too bad if indeed we do have him...
