Guest Crymson Report post Posted July 5, 2007 per tsn Let the insults toward Kenny commence. Before you start, see contract details: 2 years/$9m. $4.5m per year. Go Isles.
Guest EZBAKETHAGANGSTA Report post Posted July 5, 2007 While i admire Kenny's resliance to overpay, its better to overpay than to get nothing at all and be left with tons of cap space.

Sentonial Debut 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2007 it looks like we are gonna have to make a trade to get a top 6 winger because there is no one left.

We'd have next to zero cap space whatsoever after we signed he and Hasek, plus we'd be locking up an incredibly old guy for two years.

Guest Agalloch Report post Posted July 5, 2007 Fine with me. Guerin was a no-show in the playoffs, and not what we need. However, I guess we're not going to be getting a top six winger. Our offense is going to suck balls this year. Holland doesn't seem to be interested in getting one, since Shanny is the only one left (gross).
Wings_Fan_In_Exile 3 Report post Posted July 5, 2007 Damn. I wanted Guerin here.... but not for that much money. No wonder Holland hasn't been that active. GM's be overpaying! Not much left out there now. I'll be curious to see how our offense does this year.
interminded 1 Report post Posted July 5, 2007 As long as Kenny doesn't sign Yashin, I'm fine with everything. Just don't let the Wings be the team that gave Alexei Yashin another shot... Guerin is a decent player. 4.5 million seems a bit too much though. And the end of the season we can say if it was for sure too much..
Mickeyisms Rule! 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2007 B-b-but I thought that the Red Wings was like Florida! Where old hockey players go before they retire! Oh well. There's one more old guy that we don't have to see break his hip as a wing.
BringHomeTheCup! 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2007 While I worry about what Yashin would do in Detroit, with each forward that is signed by another team, Yashin gets more and more intriguing.

kindlwillbegreat 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2007 Down to Forsberg, Gelinas and Shanny. shanny helped convince gomez to go to ny , hes not leaving the rangers ....no thanks to gelinas .......and id welcome forsberg if he was willing to take 2.5 and come back in 2008 when hes ready , but it wont happen either
Guest jaytan Report post Posted July 5, 2007 Well, Guerin cerainly isn't worth that much dough, so I'm not too upset. This may look bad for us short-term, but a lot of these teams that have been doing the overpaying may be regretting it down the line.

Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted July 5, 2007 Now if Yashin would get signed , I wouldnt be scared of Kenny making a majorly dumb signing.
kozac 10 Report post Posted July 5, 2007 I would've shot myself if we signed Guerin, especially for that much. Thank god
Guest DetroitIan Report post Posted July 5, 2007 Damn. I would be upset. But once again, there is always some nhl team that will vastly overpay. And thats exactly what happend. As much as I wanted Guerin, I would have been pissed if Kenny gave him a 4.5 mill deal. So that definitely eases the blow. Kenny really needs to get in there at some point though.
