Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted July 6, 2007 Nothing. If a team walks away from an arbitration ruling, that player is automatically a UFA. As was the case last year with Vitaly Vishnevski, who was let go by Anaheim and later signed by Atlanta.
Zeke 5 Report post Posted July 6, 2007 I'm not sure of the compensation rules for players who are in salary arbitration and the team decides to walk away from the ruling. There is one player that I think may be just what we need. He plays big,has good hands, will drop them for his teamates, and has played for us before. Need a hint? He was a head case, but I think he's a little more "normal" now. How about ... SEAN AVERY?

Guest Shoreline Report post Posted July 6, 2007 (edited) No thanks. With how badly the Wings PK was last season, I'd rather them not sign a guy who's best talent is racking up PIM's and bashing the French. Edited July 6, 2007 by Shoreline
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted July 6, 2007 who is going to arbitration this year?
Zeke 5 Report post Posted July 6, 2007 who is going to arbitration this year? Sean Avery has asked for salary arbitration. The Rangers can walk away if it doesn't fit into their salary structure. He becomes a UFA. If our veteran presence can keep him under control in the locker room,he is a buzz saw on the ice. He hits, goes into the corners, fights, and can score. I know he's not perfect, but aren't we looking for a physical presence who can contribute? If you are worried about needless penalties,we need to make up for Lang's absense (2 minutes for hooking),and Schneider's( 2 minutes for crosschecking.) Although with the way the rangers played (and he played) when he was on there team Sean avery might be to expensive.
al48 1 Report post Posted July 6, 2007 (edited) Avery is a dueche. Everything is about Sean Avery in Sean Avery's head. Fight? Please! All Avery does is talk smack and puss out. He tries to draw penalties, but ends up being assessed them himself. Honestly, he's like Maltby, but Malts is smart about the way he instigates crap and draws penalties. The best move the Kings made last season was to rid themselves of his self-centeredness. That said, his chick is hot! Edited July 6, 2007 by al48
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted July 6, 2007 Eklund lists 29 Players ready for arbitration. Among them Sean Avery, Michael Ryder, Derek Roy and Lee Stempniak. And now that Eklund said it, they'll all be signed to new contracts before they go to arbitration!
