Yeah, that's a funny image of Lang sucking up ice time in which any other 2nd-line center might have scored twice.

That was definitely a funny image of him scoring a goal and playing a huge part in saving the Wings series against San Jose.

Good for Lang to get $4M a year in Chicago. Doesn't really affect me one way or the other that he's gone with the Wings (probably because I'm too lazy and I suck too much to notice ), but the ripping on Lang is just over the top ridiculous all the time.

But, I know all of this is going to go over people's heads, and people will insert the next overly dramatic Lang is terrible post *HERE*.

what is wrong with some of you people? You didnt like Robert Lang. We get it. Now hes gone. Move the hell on. You know, all you did was bash him when he was here and all you wanted us to do was trade him or get rid of him, now we have and yet you are still here bashing him. What does the man have to do to get you off his back? We all know you dont respect him yada yada yada, Pick a new goat and talk about him.

Oh and just give the man some props because he was phenomenal in my book while he was here. You will say hes lazy and he sucks.....but i think we all know he wasnt the fastest guy out there, doesnt make him lazy just makes him slow, he still put the puck in the net even though in your book he was "lazy".

He gave the puck up....hockey is all about keeping and taking the puck away. Its part of the game. Some people are good at keeping it....others arent so good at it. Is he as skillful as dats or zata? No, but he could still score.

I guess to sum it all up.......LET IT GOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Langer might not have been the Wings best player ever , but he certainly wasn't their worst . He chipped in with a few important goals in his time as a Wing . very underated IMO.

Krupp, Hatcher, Ranford.

I think with the right coach or linemates, Lang could be good again. Babcock doesn't seem like the kind of guy who really spends a lot of time motivating players; granted, he shouldn't really have to at this level. I imagine if you paired him with a guy like Havlat, he's going to be better able to find space and make plays because Havlat is going to draw most of the defensive attention and I also imagine he'll be generally more motivated.

It also has to suck to be the whipping boy for a team, especially a team with such high expectations of success. With the exception of like one, maybe two seasons in Pittsburgh, he never really has played on a team that was expected, I mean, really expected to win and had the pressures that come with being a contender. The Wings have this Yankee-like aura around them where, whether or not it's spoken aloud, they're expected to win every year, and every year that they don't, it's a disappointment to some degree.

That goal he scored against Nashville a few years back was priceless, but nobody can stand here straight faced and say that Robert Lang brought a lot magic to this team in his last year.

Couldn't have said it better myself Reem . What we have here on LGW are people jumping onto the Lang bashing bandwagon ,their not taking time to think about the important thing's that Langer done for the Wings , sure he made mistakes but so does everybody . Some people just seem to want to remember his mistakes more.
