norrisnick 1 Report post Posted August 23, 2007 The Red Wings' invite list is out at RWC. http://www.redwingscentral.com/stories/200...23_Tryouts.html This guy sort of stands out from the crowd. Patrik Magnusson, D, 18yo, 6'7", 244lbs, 41GP - 7G -12A -19P - 91PIM - +30 , HV-71 (SWE J-20). I wonder if he's actually any good or he simply rules at the Junior level by being Chara sized. The little blurb in the article says he's strong but doesn't have quick feet. Plus I'm wondering how he's eligible to even attend the camp. I'm fairly certain that for a guy that is still draft eligible, which he is at only 18, you had to have played in a North American league the year before in order to be signed by a team. Though I guess since he's got an invite I was wrong...

Yeah, he was passed over in the most recent draft, but according to the CBA he needed to have played in North America to be a free agent now (unless they subtly changed that since then). One thinks perhaps just having been selected in the CHL draft might be enough, looking at the evidence.
Andy Pred 48 337 Report post Posted August 24, 2007 Where the hell are the Donati's??? I think they have already been invited as the Wings asked them to come back after last camp. Think they'll be in the main camp this year and possably the prospects too. Not sure how many contract's are up for grabs, GR's roster is almost full so the new ECHL team may benefit more than the others.
Izzy24 44 Report post Posted September 4, 2007 Westgarth was a very solid, physical player in college (as was his brother), I'm glad he was invited.
