My god Cro Cop is a bum! What a total flop he's been. I really hope they dont try and push Kongo now for a title shot, if he's thrown in a main event against Couture no way will i be ordering it...he's crap. Randy would beat him within 2 rounds. A couple pretty decent fights last night, i kinda thought Bisping was given a hometown decision though. Really close, and i'd have to see it again, but I thought Hamill won. The main event was ok, a little slow early on, but ok. The UFC needs Jackson to keep winning as he's the new face of the organization, as he has by far the most crossover appeal of anyone theyve ever had because of his personality. All in all, decent night...but i still can not believe they are actually pushing friggin Liddell vs Jardine as the main event of UFC 76. What world do we live in where you can get knocked out in 40 seconds against a nobody and be in your first ppv main event your next fight? Shogun vs Forrest though was a really smart move on their part. What better way to establish Rua to the UFC fans by having him beat on one of their most popular fighters.

Mirko was overhyped following the OWGP win. He's dangerous, but it doesn't seem his heart is in it anymore. If he's not aggressive he's not going to win as he can't do anything but strike.

One problem with needing to keep Rampage winning and that's the Chute Boxe boys coming over (though I guess Silva left CB...). Wanderlei and Shogun own him. They completely dismantled him with their Muay Thay clinch work.

Where's Fedor?!?

Wow. Shogun taps to Forrest and Jardine beats Liddell. The UFC is just a jumbled mess right now! All of the big names have been suffering losses over the past year. This has to be a nightmare for the UFC, as now Shogun is nothing special to their audience and this ruins any build up for him. Liddell is done now, looks like age has finally caught up with him. Their hope was obviously for Liddell to win by knockout to set up him vs Wanderlei...but who'd even care about that fight now? I wouldnt. To me that fight is all about the decline of Liddell, and not the rise of Jardine. He's still not that good in my eyes. The buying of Pride is honestly turning out to be a flop, this is a total 180 of what was expected by all us MMA fans. I dont know if its the cage/ring thing or what...but never in a million years would i have expected these guys to be losing like this. Maybe their hearts arent into it fighting here in the States and not Japan? Who knows..

The only critizism I have here Lou, is that it seams no matter what happend that night you werent gonna be happy. Cause I remember you were very displeased about a Liddell/Jardine main event. And for good reason, it was suppose to be a domination by Liddell. But then the fight starts, and Jardine shocks the world. Cause not only did Jardine win, he made Chuck look foolish. So if Chuck would have won, it seams like you would have said, "see, I was right, horrible main event." Which by the way, I fully agreed with you there. But after seeing the fight first hand, I changed my tune. Jardine is no joke. I dont think he's Championship caliber or anything. But he sure did fight like he deserved to be in the main event. So ya gotta give the guy credit there. Even though IMO Jardine will get wasted by any top contender. And yeah, Pride is looking pretty bad right now. Forrest is looking great right now. I look forward to any Forrest Griffen fight. Never boring.

You are right on that. There was no possible outcome to that fight that wouldve made me happy...thats why i hated it. If Liddell won...then whooptydo, if Jardine won...then Liddell had lost it and needs to retire. I agree that Jardine will get wasted by any top guy, so thats why him winning just doesnt do anything for me. So in that sensem the fight was pointless. He's a solid mid-card guy and thats it. Now dont get me wrong, from sheer entertainment perspective im sure it was a good fight to watch, but for a main even i want a bout where the result of the fight is very important. Silva/Franklin is coming up which is good, as well as an interesting fight between Vera and Sylvia. Thats the kinda fight that draws the most interest for me, a young gun with alot of potential who's unbeaten taking on a proven guy. Those are also my favorite types of hockey fights too, like when Koci took on Boogaard!

No reason to make a new thread about this, but I just wanted to mention that UFC 78 is the worst pay per view card of all time. I guess after buying Pride out we're basically seeing what happened when the WWE turned to crap after buying their competition in WCW. I mean wow, i hadnt been following anything the past month, but was Evans vs Bisping the actual scheduled main event all along?? If so, PATHETIC.
