N4C3R 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2007 http://redwingscorner.blogspot.com/ After today's practice in Grand Rapids, the Red Wings released three players ... defensemen Nick Tuzzolino and Brett Westgarth and forward Kris Vernarsky. All three are NHL free agents. After Tuesday night's preseason opener in Minnesota, Detroit assigned three players back to their junior squads ... defenseman Logan Pyett and forwards Jan Mursak and Cory Emmerton. The rights to all three of those junior players remain the Red Wings'. Sopel and Downey still in it. Nice to see Ericsson still in it as well.

CenterIce 83 Report post Posted September 20, 2007 i expect to see Ericsson, Quincy and Kindl stay with the Wings all the way through the exibhitions...and Sopel and Collimore as well... they wont decided the #7 D until they have to Earlier Babcock had said that if Ericsson, Quincey, and Kindl don't beat out a top six defensemen, they will be sent to Grand Rapids. They want them to play and not sit. Things could change, though.

BigTex 1 Report post Posted September 20, 2007 And Downey vs Ellis vs Grigorenko for forward #13. Good point. I know Grigs can be sent down w/o going through waivers. Is Ellis in the same boat? If so, the decision may be made already. Sign Downey and let the other two play in GR again. Wait and see if any injuries happen and let that make the decision easier. Besides, Grigs needs another month to get in shape anyways.
