Forsberg to be playing soon and McGrattan may be on the move

Kopecky for McGrattan! :D

And, the avs wont pick up Forsberg, why would they? To be the 4th line center, they have about 11 top 6 forwards as is. Why would he go to Dallas? They arent winning the cup anytime soon, it'd be like last year, the Stars will make the playoffs and lose in 5 games. The Flyers make some sense, because of there depleted forward line-up (Upshall and Umberger out for a while) I dont see why he wouldnt come here, it should be between us and philly, as were the only team of the 5 that has a chance at the cup.

Will Forsburg be playing on a line with Zetterburg?

I don't think Philadelphia has the cap space to afford Forsberg. They'd have to dump some salary first.

haha, i dont really care if he does or not...i dont think he will be at his tip top shape so i dont see the need unless these injuries keep coming

Honestly, I have to agree with you. I myself could really care if Forsburg came here, especally since he is so injury prone.

I would like to see Forsberg in a Red Wings jersey at some point this year. Maybe he isnt going to light up the scoreboard but if, and this is a big if, he stays healthy it could help to solidify some secondary scoring.

But if we don't get him.. well lets just ay I wouldn't lose any sleep over it..

If nothing else, the idea of having a player of his calibur come here is exciting. McGratten would be an interesting experiment too....but I doubt Ottawa's just giving him away. Any word on why, anyways, they apparently want to trade him?

Forsberg won't be coming to Detroit, just call it a hunch. McGratton, I like that he's a fighter, but really he wouldn't make much impact at all and none whatsoever in the playoffs. If a trade had to be made using the names in this article, I'd say offer Ozzie for Dustin Brown. I think he'd be a great fit with the Wings, Howards ready to move up and be back up.

Ozzie for Dustin Brown? Thats crazy lopsided in our favor.

i'm sure they'd take osgood for dustin brown over say gerber for dustin brown...

although i dont even think they'd have to give up a player of brown's character to land a starting goale...tsn said burke is trying to get rid of bryzgalov for a 2nd round pick.

Burke won't trade Bryzgalov to LA for that, though. Burke might trade Bryz for Brown...but I see Bryzgalov going to a team that won't hurt the Ducks in the short term.

The Avs have 11 top 6 forwards?? Based on current points per game numbers, a top six forward should be scoring 0.44 points per game. The Wings have six guys at that mark, and the Avs have 8. Based on last year, the mark was .51 PPG at the end of the season; that knocks Svatos and Cleary (both at 0.44 right now) off the list. The Avs have four forwards with at least 1 PPG, the Wings have three. It's not like the Wings have some horrible lack of scoring while the Avs have three lines of star players. If you think Forsberg could help the Wings some great amount but would be useless to the Avs, you're nuts.

That's the magic of it though! LA is desperate for a goalie, and despite LaBarbera playing well the past few games, they will need a true starter soon. And while Ozzie hasn't been that in a good few years or so, he's still capable of it, especially on a team like LA.

That trade won't happen, and for one reason: the Wings loyalty to Ozzie. Holland was pulling teeth when he dumped him off before, and I highly doubt he let's him go again.

I seriously believe LA might make a trade like that, because they have great depth at forward and could afford to move someone like Brown. Their biggest need is a decent starting goalie, which Ozzie could be. But, at the same time, I doubt the Wings will part ways with Ozzie.

I dont think he'll end up in D-town. It doesnt make sense to go anywhere esle then Colorado. He has a home there , and still has friends playing on that team. I wouldnt be surprized if he came to Detroit but i seriously doubt it. But lets cross our fingers :)

I think the point is that that money could be spent much better. Say, on a goalie.

I'm based in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden (home of Modo), and the rumours over here is that Forsberg will either play with Modo (maybe joining in December) or retire. He's won everything except a Swedish championship and the only possible club for him in order to achieve that, is Modo.

Everybody knows about his injuries over the years and it really makes no sense for him to go back to the NHL again, and certainly not to sign a 3-year contract (which I understand was said in some of the rumours).

Regarding that original article in the Edmonton Sun, it says that Forsberg "continues to skate with MoDo of the Swedish Elite League". I'm not sure what "skate" refers to here, but so far this season he's done nothing else than practice with them, i.e. he hasn't played any games in the Swedish Elite League. He's present as a spectator at most games, though.

The latest news on Peter Forsberg is that he will play with the Swedish National Team in the upcoming Karjala Cup (Euro Hockey Tour part 1) in Finland in early November. As I wrote earlier, he hasn't played any regular games this fall but this move is certainly a big step for him to get back. I guess we'll know where he will play after this tournament in Finland.

Sure it makes sense, its only you övik people that think he will play for MODO this year.. :P. Actually it makes perfect sense to play another year in NHL for Forsberg.. I for one haven't heard any rumors about him staying in MODO, its only natural for him to practise with his old club in his home city.. No offence, but i think the local media in övik are quite biased towards him playing there, and only wants to make it sound like he is going to stay there. Just my two cents :P. Oh, and i live quite close to övik aswell, so i think im not completely off base here :).

Anyways, it would be nice with a healthy foppa, but i think there's no way he'll be playing here. He has actually stated somewhere that Detroit isn't one of the teams he would like to join, if i recall it correctly. And, lets face it, he will be injured within 10 games..

True. That's why it doesn't make sense. And he doesn't need the money either and he can't win the Swedish Championship in the NHL, so...
