Senators, can they break the Wins record?

62-13-7? Unlikely.

Although the Sens are on fire right now, just like our Red Wings !!!!!! it's likely both teams will fall back a little bit. It's truely hard to maintain this kind of pace for a full season. The Wings did do it before of course, so anything is possible. I guess if it's going to happen the Sens would be the team to do it.

I think our record IS safe though.

Everyone was saying the same thing LAST year when the Duck went something like 20-2-2 in the 1st 2 months. They barely won their division over DAL and SJ. My guess is they will finish with about 48-53 wins. The Wings about 51-56 yet again. The play in the weak Central Division, right?

No, it'll be a new one in Ottawa, start strong, choke hard. I hate the sens and almost every scumbag that wears there jersey (Excluding Fisher, Heatley, Emery, Redden, McAmmond and Foligno).

They wont break the wins record or win the cup, Im tired of hearing Eugenue Melnyk saying how he's giving Wade Redden the "Stanley Cup Discount" What bulls***, did you not watch the finals last year Eugene? Your team got stomped into the ground, and wont have the chance to get stomped again this year.

BTW, The Wings have a better shot at beating the record then the Sens.

You hate good guys like Daniel Alfredsson and Martin Gerber, but not more self-centered guys like Dany Heatley and Ray Emery?

Since when is Alfredsson a good guy?

Since he threw his stick at a fan in the stands.

No but seriously, Alfie really has become the heart and soul of that team. Any guy that is as dedicated to both ends of the ice as he is definitely has no problems with dedication to game.

On the other hand, Im dying to know what Heatley's stats would look like if he ever had to carry a line and/or didnt always have a world-class center/winger to play alongside. No doubt theyd still be awesome, but it begs the question what Hanks stats would look like if he played with no less than Ilya Kovalchuk or Alfie and Spezza for his entire career..

I hope they don't . But they are way better than anyone in the crappy east.

It will be interesting to see how they do against the west this year.

Just because you can beat the leafs 8 times a year, doesn't mean you can beat the WINGS in the finals!!!

See! The Sens are nothing!! 1-4 loss to the Caps.

On to another small discussion: I gained a tonne of respect for Alfredsson after the Cup finals. He seemed to be the ONLY Senators player (aside from Comrie) that cared they were going to lose. He was easily their best player and would've given his life for the Cup. Heatley was pathetic.

I don't hate Alfie anymore. Still, you gotta boo him when he's in your building.

The Sens only beat two teams (CAR and MON) that've been better than average to this point in my opinion. They've done there job almost perfectly though and that's all you really can ask of them. Still, I don't think we should think that this team is that good just yet

You guys are overrating Ottawa. There good , but everyone has streaks , and they get a long one and they get considered to go 77 - 5? no way in hell thats happening... There good , but there not much better then anyone esle. Just things are going there way for now, and you cant expect them not to get injuries during the year . There will be one that will hurt them happens all the team to all teams.
