Homer will be missed though. Hope he's not hurt too bad. Good job the 2nd PP unit is doing well.
seeinred 1,488 Report post Posted December 12, 2007 Well that sucks. Hopefully it's just this one game. Obviously it's not TOO serious since he played the next night.

Hope he's not hurt too bad. Good job the 2nd PP unit is doing well. I'd be more inclined to think we'll see your lines rather than stacking the top line (Sammy not included). Hopefully he gets back soon and gets back to his early season goal scoring ways. He's got 3 goals in his past 10 games (which isn't horrible), but it would be great to see the consistency he showed to to start the season. Plus, his body on the PP is essential. edicius 3,269 Report post Posted December 12, 2007 (edited) Call me absolutely crazy, but I'd like to see Franzen thrown on the top line to fill Homer's slot. EDIT: Double post. Edited December 12, 2007 by edicius

Beating the Oilers? We are the best team in the league by a longshot right now for a reason, we are deep, we have great chemistry, Homer will be missed and hopefully he's not out long but being worried about the Oilers is a non issue. If we lost to the Coilers it's because we played a s***ty game not because of injuries!!

Call me absolutely crazy, but I'd like to see Franzen thrown on the top line to fill Homer's slot. Franzen might look OK replacing Sammy. But the Mule's and Cleary have shown pretty good chemistry. Why mess it up?

GMRwings1983 8,794 Report post Posted December 12, 2007 How's Hank gonna score goals now with Sammy taking all the shots on his line? Well, hopefully on the bright side, playing with Hank will boost Sammy's offensive numbers for trade bait value.
puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted December 12, 2007 No Homer, Maltby or Draper? I am a bit worried, esp. with Nick's sore hip, too. Hopefully he's OK - he says he is, but... Enough with the injuries, already.

German Red Wing 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2007 (edited) I wasn't to impressed with hartigan, nobody else to call up? Other probable picks could have been Corazzini or Cullen. I think they went with Hartigan because he is the most experienced on NHL level from that trio. (side note: from? of? Gotta train my grammar skills a little bit... ) Edited December 12, 2007 by German Red Wing

Grittzkey 1 Report post Posted December 13, 2007 as much as it hurts to see homer out for a game, just be glad its not a serious injury.. its not that much of a lose considering players other than zdh have picked up thereplay as of late.. iam more intrigued now to watch this game. to see how others re-act to more PT. and see how the team overall reacts being put under more pressure.. a little bit of adversity never hurt anybody anyway. No Draper,Maltby,Holmstrom.. More Downey and kopecky.. should be fun.
evil204 4 Report post Posted December 13, 2007 I really hope Sammy won't be on the first line. If he is, he should be banned from shooting the puck.

VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted December 13, 2007 I'm not too concerned. The Wings never seem to actually suffer from injuries. When someone is injured, the young guys step up their game. So having random players sit out a game just gives the rest a chance to step it up a notch. We always seem great performances when there are injuries. So I'm not too concerned, though obviously I want Holmstrom, Maltby, and Draper back.

Yemack 1 Report post Posted December 13, 2007 Some part of me wants to see Kopecky in 1st line. If not for the whole night, maybe just couple of shifts. He is a big body who can hang on to puck and can finish the play Pav and Z set up. The other part of me is saying he does not play both ends of the ice well. But if I were Babcock, I would try the formula for a change.
