C'mon Jack you're no fun!!! . I am not saying the Big 10 is better then the SEC (because it isn't), but I get annoyed when media talks about how much 'faster' it is down there when it really isn't. Both conferences have their storied programs.....

...But at least the Big Ten's are connected to reputable learning institutions.

Great to see the Tigers dominating the Buckeyes for the entire 1st half. And actually, still dominating. LSU just scored with about 8-9 min left in the 3rd. 31-10 right now. Puts a HUGE smile on my face. :D But my smile will grow even larger once the 4th quarter ends. Unless OSU makes a miraculous 4th quarter comeback, the Tigers will be champions of college football. Congrats to LSU! GO TIGERS! STOMP OUT THOSE BUCKEYES! WOOOOOOOO!!!!

We played much better this year...but....damn. You can't drop touchdowns, get a field goal blocked, take 6 fifteen yard personal foul penalties on crucial plays, and not make plays and still win a game as big as this. There's no reason they should have lost this game, it's disgusting.

LSU made plays and took advantage of their opportunities, had better playcalling, and that's why they are the National Champions. It wasn't because Ohio State was slow.

Methinks there will be a battle for starting quarterback next season.

That game was painful to watch.

I kind of thought the Buckeyes got screwed over with that weak roughing the kicker call at the worst possible time. But when I saw the replay I had to admit that it would be tough for the officials to let it go. The idiotic personal foul on the next play sealed the game.

LSU's still not the best team in the country. Don't fool yourselves. I'd have given USC my vote.

USC had their chance to get in, and they blew it. LSU didn't. The Tigers ARE the best team in the country. Don't kid yourself.

Yeah, well there's no way in hell that LSU team would make it through even an eight-team playoff. They were lucky enough to win their conference title game.

I disagree. I like LSU's chances against USC and Georgia. I don't think LSU could handle back to back weeks in dec-jan like most of the 8 team playoff formats have. I also don't think many teams couldnt handle it either.

Is it just me, or did this bowl season prove that the SEC and Big Ten are much closer in terms of speed and talent than the media loves to suggest?

Three games between the #1, 3,and 4 ranked SEC teams vs the #1, 3, and 4 ranked Big Ten teams and all three games were close, despite the fact that two of those games were played within 50 miles of the SEC team's home stadium. This is why I don't understand the Big Ten's resistance to a playoff; If teams from other conferences could be forced to play postseason games in Big Ten stadiums, people might think very differently about what conferences are the best.
