Pretty exciting Bowl game last night. Navy almost pulled off the win. That game went back and fourth. I was rooting for Navy(cause I picked them to win). So I was disappointed at the end. But it was still a fun game to watch. Hopefully we get more Bowl games like that.

I did a college football bowl pick'em and picked Navy to win. Wasn't that confident in the game so I only risked 2 pts. The college football bowl pick'em game is adding some excitement to some of these meaningless games. Are you in my league?

Yeah I am. Detroit Bad Boyz. And I made the mistake of having confidence in Navy and put 16 points on em. I heard Utah had a few injuries on defense. And Navy's offense has been very solid. So I went for it. Hopefully I'll gain some points tonight!

And yeah man, this is definitely making the games more exciting.

I don't know much about either team enough to risk a lot of points. I went with Navy because I always like the military schools. Didn't even know Utah was riding a 7 game bowl winning streak.

Glad you decided to join the league. Gonna be lots of fun down the stretch.

Im also in the league (Im Frank Ferter), and picked Utah :P I just took them because all i knew about Utah was that they had a pretty good D and Navy just runs...so i liked the matchup there. I dont believe i gave them very many confidence points at all though.

You fiend! YOU are the one who is ahead of me!

You lead with 16 points after Utah/Navy, to my five and everyone else's zero. But my being the only person to pick Florida Atlantic looks like it will bump me up to a whopping nine points after two games...and still in second.

Whew! Thank you Cinci!! Finally my first correct pick. I think I put 20 something on Cinci. Two more Bowl games today as well. Time to build up those points!

I watched some of that game, PapaJohns.com Bowl, but mostly I watched the Michigan - UCLA basketball game. At first I thought a 16-year-old boy was announcing that football game, but then figured out it was Pam Oliver. Once I figured that out I could watch it in relative sanity. Anyway where did that game take place. It was sparse. Downright barren. I thought football games didn't have attendance problems. This game did. Glad Cincy won though. If a Big Ten school isn't playing, then I pull for a Midwestern team.

The Cincy-Southern Miss game was played in Birmingham. I've never been in northern Alabama before but I think that is the only "big" stadium in Birmingham, seats a little over 80,000. Alabama-Birmingham, in Conference USA, plays their football games there and attendance has usually been barren from whenever I have seen games there on TV, even when the school had a stretch a few years ago when they were pretty decent. My alma mater used to play in C-USA and played at UAB twice, both times I saw it on TV and there if there was more than 20,000 or 25,000 people at the game, it was generous.

My school plays in the Mountain West now, the same conference as Utah, so I have some familiarity with them.

FYI The MWC has a network dedicated to their sports, much like the Big Ten Network, but it's only available in Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Colorado, and some parts of California. It's not even on satellite for Dish or Direct TV so unless MWC teams have been on the road that an FSN affilate broadcasts or it's on CSTV or Versus, general public wouldn't see them, which is a major reason why you and plenty other people don't know much about Utah or other MWC schools. The market that my school is in can't even pick up the Mtn (the network name for the conference) at all locally on cable, so even they have problems seeing a lot of games which stinks. The network has TV rights first to all MWC home games, so MWC teams have barely been shown on more available stations like ESPN or FSN.

Anyways, back to Utah...they have a quarterback who, as a freshman, was going to be damned good in a few years but blew out his ACL during that time. He took a redshirt year and is playing again now, and showing glimpses of his former self, but he's not the same obviously with his knee. They have a damned good kicker/punter who is clutch almost all the time, a solid RB who quietly produces, and a speedy defense. That's Utah in a nutshell.

Going to the Mo City Bowl tonight! Brother is a Purdue grad so we'll go against the local grain and be wearing our black and gold. Too bad they're playing Central because I like pulling for the other Michigan schools, but not tonight.

That is a hard one. I enjoy seeing CMU have success, but at the same time I always root for every Big Ten team once bowl season rolls around......

My priority in what I want to happen this bowl season:

Michigan beats Florida; realistically possible.

The Big Ten shuts out the SEC; also realistically possible, but far less likely.

The Big Ten sweeps their bowls; least likely, due the the additional hurdle of the Rose Bowl.

Slightly different set of priorities for me:

Michigan beats Florida

Virginia beats Texas Tech (ordinarily this would be like, #1 and #1A, but Michigan's got the better storylines this year.)

Purdue beats CMU

Texas beats ASU

Giant sinkhole opens up directly underneath the Superdome and swallows the field just as OSU and LSU are jogging off for halftime. Screw those teams.

I agree! I just really, really want to see Carr go out with a W. He deserves it.

Whoot whoot for Purdue putting a pounding on CMU

I second that. Especially considering I picked em to win. I think I put 20 something points on em. I knew CMU would have no chance against ANY Big Ten squad(which surprises me that I didn't put 32 on em, lol).

Not so fast my friend...CMU is down only 7.

I couldn't agree with you more.

Another hard game for the Big Ten I think will be Michigan State vs. Boston College.

I want to see the second 2 happen.

While there always is the possibility that UM will beat Florida, any given Saturday, Appy State won, yada yada yada; the Gators are one of the worst draws Michigan could have gotten. I cannot wait to see what Tebow does to the UM defense.
