CAredwingsfan91 28 Report post Posted January 11, 2008 (edited) I know this has been in the news for a while but it seems like something might be done by today. Brian Campbell and Francois Beauchemin seem to be the targets. Lets wait and see if anything happens. Blackhawks pulling the trigger. I wouldn't bother with Campbell his contract is up this season and hes gonna be wanting the big bucks i know they can affored it but either way he'll re-sign with Buffalo I think. I would love to see him in a Wings uniform but i'll just settle with seeing him on my team in EA 08 =) Edited January 11, 2008 by CAredwingsfan91
Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted January 11, 2008 I'd be pretty surprised to see Anaheim deal Beauchemin. If they do, maybe someone like Ruutu going the other way would be my guess.

Maybe Burke will continue his hidden love affair with former Wings players by trading for Lang, Williams, and Lapointe.

If thats the case, the Bhawks win that trade in a landslide. Ruutu has been rough this year. And most years. And Chicago has young scoring aplenty in Toews, Kane, and Sharp, with Williams, Lang, and every so often Havlat to boot.

He's having a down year but still, he's had a 20+ goal scoring year under his belt and also fits right in with Anaheims scrappy forwards. On paper its a fair deal for both sides....as Ruutu is still only 24 and was a 9th overall pick. Beauchemin isnt exactly having a good year either so far by the way. Im not necessarily saying i'd make the trade, but considering for this season they have Neidermayer, Pronger, and Schneider on D.... that swap would make their team better overall imo. On top of that if Selanne were to come back, they'd be loaded once again.
