OK - so no big deal for some of you. 2nd time in the last 6 years though!
Dropped the boy off at school and the kids were FREAKING out.
This is brutal. I put a pair of socks on my feet for over an hour.

I'm just north of Detroit and we're in the same boat - it was almost 50 here on the trusty backyard thermometer this afternoon and they're saying tomorrow we'll be lucky to hit 15. We've got a high wind warning and a winter weather advisory - wind chills are going to be well below zero.

The wind is already howling outside but it's still in the upper 40's at this hour.

I noticed that there are no human beings in the above pic, in that, humans cannot survive in such a climate. Call FEMA.
How far are you from the beach? I recommend you do like us tomorrow. Me and the wife have the day off and are gonna walk down to Kam III and go for a swim. Y'know, after I drop the boy off at school, but not TOO late so as to catch the heat of the day. That would be silly.
Prolly 9am till 10:30-ish. Quick dip er 2, see some whales, shower off and back home we go.

Seriously - shovel that deck OK? Gross.

I'm gonna go put that pair of socks on my feet again now. GAH!

And I love that in GR we got a random blizzard last night and there's no school! Woohoo SNOW DAY!!
It makes me sad that so many people don't get to experience the wonderfulness of having four seasons

the weather last night was crazy. all day its in the upper 40's, here about a foot of the two feet of snow we had melted, you could see grass in some spots!! then it starts raining, then hailing, then winds about 50 miles per hour. My sisters had a snow day today too....and as I look out the window, its snowing again haha.

I know it was crazy! I didn't even know it was supposed to start snowing and I wake up, turn on the tv and see Grand Valley State University - CLOOOOOOOOOSED! I was beyond excited cause I was supposed to have a huge exam and a big project due today - The perfect day for a snow day!

Friend of ours was out here visiting for a couple weeks over the holidays. She's since returned and left us a message early (early early) this morning. (What part of 5 or 6 hour timechange don't people get?)

Anyways - It was along the same lines as your post -> "Uh yeah guys, it was 42 yesterday and now it's 4. One, two, three, FOUR degrees!."

And here's another image from this morning's paper here. They shut down the park down to 7000' I guess. Father-in-law came down to spend the day here in Kihei. He lives upcountry and nobody can tolerate it up there right now. Did I mention we don't have furnaces here?

You think thats cold - try living in Edmonton. We just had a cold snap roll through that saw the temperatures dip to between -30 and -45 Celsius in the past 4 days. Right now it has warmed up to -25. Thats colder then -14 Fahrenheit for you down south.
