Of course, there was no penalty on the goalie. Shouldn't have been one on Dom v. Gabby, either.

BS, the only similarity is that both goalies rushed out to challenge, its completely different after that. Dom didn't go for the puck, this goalie did.

Both those videos are great. You never see goal celebrations like that anymore.

Dom didn't go for the puck, this goalie did.

Ok, now that's BS. How do you know what Dom's intentions were? Like he'd willingly try to hurt another player, espescially if he got caught.

Roller hockey game, few years back... temper tantrum.... idk I wouldn't put it by him...

Anyways Kopas was lame, (move was better than the celebration) i was hoping he would get the hook but a punch in the back was even better

The first one was pretty fun though.

I have no idea what Dom's intentions were and it doesn't matter. I'm just looking at what he actually did. In this goalie's case, he came out with a poke check, in Dom's case, he came out with a slide tackle. Dom in no way tried to poke check the puck, if he did that and ended up tripping Gaborik I would agree that there is no penalty, but when you slide into a guy with your stick completely in the opposite direction of the puck, it's a no brainer penatly.

Quick FYI: I assume you copied & pasted the circled link.

For some reason the tags Youtube uses are different than LGW. The easier way to do it, is just copy the URL and paste it inbetween the [ video ] [ /video] tags.

What if that play happens 2 feet in front of the net instead of between the dots.

Last second on the shot Dom slides across the crease to make the save, pushing off of the post he makes the save and slides through Gaborik. Is that not the same save as if it happened between the dots. Or is it because he was that far out that he is no longer(or shouldn't) allowed use his body to make the save. He is a goalie not a forward and even forwards lay down in front of shots. They both just happened to be moving very fast opposite directions so as Dom went down he slid forward (as opposed to laying down) and Gaborik was going so fast that as he attempted to get up over Dom he didn't have the clearance room to get over him.

There is no rule in the NHL that says a goalie, or player for that matter, cannot attempt to get the puck by sliding into it and then follow through to the body.

Now had he missed the puck entirely and just slid through Gaborik's legs then yes there is a penalty.

*Oh and BTW a slide tackle happens feet first!

His intentions may have been to poke check the puck but he didn't, it's clear as day that his legs take out Gaborik before his stick ever gets there, his stick actually never even comes close to the puck. Anways, onto the best celebration ever:

I remember on NHL 04 or somewhere around there where you could do a celebration where you use your stick as a bow and shoot an arrow at the goalie. That one was sweet.

*edit* Damnit Opie beat me to it
