theman19 47 Report post Posted February 12, 2008 Sheesh, Mostly ESPN doesn't know their head from a whole in the ground but who knows. Most of the media outlets i frequent said that chance of Jagr being traded was slim. that said, i would be livid if after getting selanne to sign the contract they did, the ducks had the cap to absorb Jagr as well. If he's traded to the west things could get intresting. In my mind, i don't think holland is that stupid. Jagr wouldn't do well at all, we have very little Czechs on this team and the only linemate of his that could be his countryman would be hudler. I'm not saying euro's need their own countrymen to succeed but there is a reason we have half the swedish olympic team on our roster.

Green Wing 26 Report post Posted February 12, 2008 Besides, Jagr is a veteran. I think he's probably been Americanized enough not to need his fellow countrymen helping him fit in everywhere he goes. And no, I doubt very much he'll be traded.
Grim 5 Report post Posted February 12, 2008 no way, no how... them Rangers still hold a playoff spot.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted February 12, 2008 For the life of me, I can't believe how the Ducks are involved in every trade rumor. First Hossa, then Sundin, now Jagr also. Hell, they might just get all 3 while they're at it, and trade away draft picks only in the process.
babygorilla 1 Report post Posted February 12, 2008 AHHHHHH boy. Jagr is still a very solid player when he wants to be. His spotty play is a little bit of a concern. Would take one of the other names floating out there before jumping on Jagr.

ashenhigh 9 Report post Posted February 12, 2008 well if you think about it...... the wings are also involved in every trade rumor too yeah.... but jagr would be sweet. Id take Jagr over anyone else in the entire NHL. Sure he is having an off year, but come on... its ******* Jagr.
Fedorovfan 25 Report post Posted February 12, 2008 Jarr would be great as a Wing. The Rangers have long wanted defensive help. But, the Wings can't afford to trade away defens for 1 player. Holland isn't that stupid. He'll make a trade or 2 that will make a splash. The Wings will win it all. Mark my words.
Salviaman 104 Report post Posted February 12, 2008 Jagr sounds very nice!!! make it happen Kenny!

Grittzkey 1 Report post Posted February 12, 2008 Jagr wing? he'd look nice in a jersey but i dont see it happening.
SweWings 45 Report post Posted February 13, 2008 Yeah... Maybe but I don't really see the Rangers giving up on the guy unless they get sizable return that can help them right now. Perhaps a winger who can actually work with Gomez. Otherwise they'll likely hold on to him and hope he sparks so that they reach the playoffs.
miller76 463 Report post Posted February 15, 2008 What does race have to do with hockey?......either the guy (any) works with our system or he doesn't! It is all about understanding the system in how we play the game. It just seems certain teams out there that have a dominant amount of players from one country puts a larger importance on being buddies off the ice as well. I can't see Jagr being a western player anytime soon and certainly never a duck!
RainingBlood 8 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 I guess the media forgot that, you know, there IS a salary cap! Hahaha I also heard the ducks might land Kovalchuk while they are at it too. Is Melrose behind all these rumors. His mullet must be getting inside scoop
