What do you think the problem is for our current slump?

I, as well as everyone else, knew this thread was going to come soon after tonite's loss, but instead of waiting I decided to make it myself instead.

Obviously the Wings haven't been doing so hot, and there are multiple factors that contribute. But hell, we aren't perfect, so I'm not complaining AT ALL, we have had an amazing season so far and there is still a lot to be said. But every team has their slumps and this just happens to be (hopefully our only) one. I want to know what you guys think, why we haven't been doing so well lately.

For me it's be multiple things, missing players (though not major players - still contribute a lot to our team), too many defensive breakdowns, and not enough enthusiasm in front of the net. Yeah, enthusiasm, I don't think we've been playing with that "spark," if you will, that we have presented on the ice earlier this season. I don't expect our team to be perfect and I'm not panicking at all, yet. But that leaves up for another question as well...

I think you pretty muched summed it up. Recently the passes haven't been to great and like previously stated, they seem to be playing with the puck instead of shooting it.

I don't think we should worry though. Keep in mind we're THE Detroit Red Wings. We'll get out of this slump in no time.

I think our goaltending has been less than stellar as of late. Not saying that's the only reason, but letting 3 goals at least these last 4 games isn't very Wings like. Some of them blame has to go against the D as well. Not worried yet, but watching games are a lot better when we win.

they need to play with more grit when things arent going well, samuelson needs to shoot the puck quicker he gets like 10 shots a game blocked its gettin pathetic i feel like throwin up,but its better now than an early exit in april

I think it's because there's not enough goalie bashing on this site. Dom and Ozzie need to be told they suck constantly.

It's because every part of the team is sucking equally. They'll get over it and they'll go on a 5 game streak before long.

how about work hard to earn victory? The way I see is that Wings are almost started thinking they are the team to beat and also Stanley Cup champ last spring.

I don't mind letting up little bit now to save some mental energy for our final push for playoff but we have to remember we have got to work hard and move faster to get wins.

Too much reliance on Flip and Hudler is a key problem, especially with Cleary out. They dont appear to be capable of stepping up, which i always believed would be a problem when the playoffs rolled around. Trade Hudler, and get someone else for Flip to play with is what i'd do.

We're just not motivated enough right now. When we have energy, motivation and are working hard we nearly can't be beat. That's all it is. Our defense is fine. Our offense is fine. (Though I do feel we need to make a deadline deal, don't get me wrong) Hasek is fine. I just think this ahead in the standing we're not playing as well as we should to win games.

IMO, weve got a big time problem with our #4s.....We have none. Our #4 Dman is Lilja...and our #4 forward is Cleary. Both of those guys are best suited as #5-6 players at their respective positions. Conversely, we have too many #5 Dmen, and half our forwards should be #7-8 forwards.

I'm not sure if that comment was directed towards me, but let me clarify if it was. I'm not bashing the goalies, I am just saying during the 4 game streak they have a 3.25 gaa. That's a bit higher than what the Wings have let in majority of the season.

i'd say effort and ballanced scoring. they just don't seem to want it as badly as the other teams recently. and we really need some ballance to our offense. i know hossa's a pipe dream, but that is exactly what we need. to me, anybody is expendable outside our top line (for offense).

Like people have stated every team gets their slumps, this is the wings slump

This will turn around soon enough, the team just needs to find their confidence again

If this continues for another 5 games, then we can start to worry

Will we lose 5 more games in a row, no, So it will all be fine
