Here is an exerpt from TSN's Dirt Sheet:

The Skinny: The Blue Jackets could be sellers if they fall out of contention for a playoff spot in the West, and Fedorov - along with Michael Peca and Adam Foote - could be given For Sale signs. The Detroit papers have already speculated the possibility of No. 91 returning to the Motor City for one last run, and the veteran centre - in the final season of a five year, $40 million contract - has already said he would be all right with that. - Detroit News/Free Press

Is there a possibility that Kenny would go after all 3 of these guys? He has some assets that play normally (Hudler, Lilja, Sammy, Kopecky) and has prospects and picks.

Would these 3 players be a risk worth taking to add to the Wings or would 1 or 2 be the most he would go after?

I don't know if KH is willing to make that type of blockbuster deal. I am sure if this losing streak and these supposedly secondary scorers don't step up, he may have too. I know it wouldn't bother me. I have never been a fan of Lilja, I believe he is a total liability, as well as Hudler and Kopecky. I hate to jump the gun just because were losing right now, but we may need to jump in with both feet.

All three of them would be great assets. But since we're apparently looking at Brad Stuart, Foote isn't necessary. So let's keep with Federov and Peca (both, if we could, but that's hugely unlikely) Both are talented veterans who can provide secondary scoring and sound defensive plays.

PLEASE tell me that you did not just compare Sammy to Feds.

Last time I checked Sammy had better stats across the board then Feds, and also didn't have injury problems (a common problem for most washed up players).

Now, I'm not saying Samuelsson is good; I want him off this team as much as anyone here, but I think bringing Fedorov back to Detroit would be a huge waste of prospects and/or draft picks. He has nothing left in the tank, he's had nothing left for a while, and he's getting progressively worse with each year. If we want to bolster our team up, lets get someone who can actually produce what we need, not sell tickets for the 90's diehards to reminisce.

That's it? Alright....you sure? Ok.

The way some people are going on and on for Fedorov, I wonder if they realize it.

yeah that's all i needed to say. seems dumb to point out that he's not the same player now that he used to be. news flash, we know that. any other revalations in hockey you wanna share that you know of like the nets are 6x4? and i wasn't even making fun of you buddy. i don't like to get in arguments with other wing fans. doesn't mean we still don't want him back for what he does at this point.

Sammy has 9-22-31, +13 in 57 games.

Fedorov has 8-19-27, -4 in 47 games.

Major differences? Fedorov has been used in a more defensive role with players generally lacking offensive talent. Samuelsson has been used in an almost exclusively offensive role with linemates whose offensive talent exceeds his own. And Fedorov still has a better GPG, APG, and PPG. So Fedorov is posting better numbers with no help, while playing better defensive hockey than Sammy.
