Ducks are the team to beat.

Good, last year they said Detroit was the team to beat.

This year's our turn!

Looking forward to Stuart knocking out some of Pronger's teeth!

Actually, most people picked Anaheim last year.

Yep.

However, I fail to see how they are the team to beat. THey did get stronger, certainly, but they still can't score. Their only offensive threat is Selanne, and Bertuzzi to a lesser degree. They've got a stacked defense, but so does Detroit.

I guess I could see someone saying that they're the first team to rise up to the level of Detroit this season, but I wouldn't say, in all honesty, that they've passed us in quality.

Right! No one can score like the Wings can right now. What are you on? You don't consider Getzlaf, Perry, or Kunitz to be offensive threats? They're way more stacked offensively than the Wings right now.

what they meant to say is

Ducks looks to be a team to beat RIGHT NOW.

they will change their mind next week, week after that, and before playoff, and during playoff

and they will say Wings will finally take a fall coming season. rinse and repeat.

Realistically I think Anaheim should be the favourites. Whoever is up against them is really gonna have to bring it.

Good thing is that Detroit knows they can beat them.

Hahaha...don't be silly

At this point I definitely think the top 3 now (in no order) are the ducks wings and the pens. I still think the Wings have it over the quacks though. They were even before today, and Stuart will really help against the ducks I think. And in Detroit fashion Stuart I think will have an awesome time in Detroit (if he resigns).

We'll still beat dallas, and people thinking colorado is better than the wings are delusional.

Who the hell cares?

TSN: "The Wings are the team to beat"

Rest of NHL: "Oh! Well...look at that! Pack it in guys. No point vying for the cup. Its going to Detroit..."

Who thinks like that? If anything all this means is "bring your best game when you play the Ducks". Duh. I hate to break it to you, but EVERY playoff opponent is "the team to beat" when its win or go home..

Ducks are the team to beat right now, in a couple weeks if Richards pans out, then Dallas will be the team to beat, then it will be San Jose. As long as the Red Wings aren't favored its the best thing for them. Last year everybody wrote us off against the Sharks, then they said we wouldn't contend with the Ducks. As long as the Wings can stay healthy they will be fine.

Of course TSN would say that. I actually it more with Detroit not being the team to beat. I prefer it to be we had a hard time to win the cup, then we came in and dominated.

Being the underdog is waaaay more fun.
