Wings

============

Steve Yzerman

Nicklas Lidstrom

Brendan Shannahan

Sergei Fedorov

Bob Probert

HM: The Professor, Hank & Datsyuk (they'll likely supplant Probert for a 5th place tie by the time all is said and done. As another poster said, they're "peanut butter and jelly.") I never got to see Terrible Ted Lindsay play, but I have a feeling he'd be on the list if I was just a few decades older.

Non-Wings

============

Joe Sakic (I don't care how much I hated the Avs back when. Joe was the second best #19 of his era and always pure class)

Pat Lafontaine

Pavel Bure

Alexander Ovechkin

Mike Modano

he was my first favorite player, but my loyalties lied to teams not players when i was little so as soon as he left I had to find a new one and a young scrappin irish fellow just got into town so naturally shanny was my new go to guy

Well, I always hated him. I never understood why he played on the blueline. He didn't have very good defense. His Norris' were based purely on his offensive output which annoyed my too.

Anyway, a few people have him on their list so I guess I'm in the minority.

Shanahan i really soured on his last season or two here, but he was definitely my boy for a good long stretch so i wont let that effect his ranking.

5. Ray Sheppard

Others: Mickey Redmond, Darren McCarty, Cicceralli, Super Mario, The Great One, Gordie, Marty LaPointe.

Damn Lou , if you ever made it to be a head coach in the NHL you'd have a team of enforcers. :scared:

Interesting lists. I am not a born and bred hockey fan or Red Wings fan -- got there as quick as I could, though. Where I am from they don't know what a puck is, and think Red Wings are shoes.

1. Dominik Hasek. One of a kind, a legend in his own time. No one else will ever come close.

2. Steve Yzerman. Peerless, and forever special... no explanation needed here.

3. Teemu Selanne. A gentleman and a very special player 'til the end, whenever that is.

4. Pavel Datsyuk. Much more to come in his stellar career, but I love any player with so much magic in his soul. He's very, very special, this one.

5. Mike Modano. Another gentleman, thoughtful and loyal, much like Stevie Y, if you know anything about Mo.

I have lots more, but these guys are the cream of the crop in my little world.

You so would!! i bet you'd have Ray Emery in goal as well ..... just to cover the other guy's back's just in case they needed help. :P

I hear Darren McCarty can play goal if needed.

D-Mac would be sitting in the penalty box with the rest of the guy's . Emery would be facing a 5 on 0 only for him to get a game misconduct for giving a wedgie to the opposition's superstar player. :P

I suppose Dan Cloutier would have to serve as backup in case Emery got tossed. On the bright side though, with my roster you'd still have 30 million in cap space left for the deadline :hehe:
