Could we See Crosby vs Ovechkin in Round 1?

It is certainly a possibility that with Crosby coming back Pittsburg could take the #1 spot in the East from Montreal and with the streak the Caps are on. That would be one series in the East that would actually be fun to watch.

Crosby may return on Thursday, he is out for their game tonight against the Devils. If they lose tonight, it puts them them 3pts behind Montreal with 5 games to play. It would also put them in a tie with the Devils, which means they could very easily fall to 4th in the conference.

It is very possible the match up happens, but if I were to give my best guess, I would say that Pitt finishes 2nd in the conference and Wash finishes 9th or 10th (out of the playoffs).

Wash is 2 pts behind Bos right now, but Bos has a game in hand. They are only 1 pt up on Buf, who also have a game in hand. Surprisingly, Tor is only 2 pts behind Wash as well and they have been playing without some key players, including Sundin (little too late if you ask me though).

If I were Pitts, I would let Sid rest a few more games

I think it is a tough one, you'd like to rest him as much as you can, but you also need to get him in game shape. After tonight, there are only 5 games left in their season. There isn't much time left to get in game shape. He definately won't have enough time at this point to be fully conditioned by the start of the playoffs, but you want to give him as much game time as you can, so I think he has to play asap. Obviously, if you are going to risk injury, you keep him out.

From what I have read, his ankle is feeling strong, he's just not in game shape. To be honest, I'm not sure if I believe that. If his ankle was strong enough (no way it is going to be 100% until next year anyway, but if it was truly strong enough), he'd be playing and gaining the game shape he needs during those games. Then again, its probably risking injury more if your conditioning isn't where it needs to be.

If Gary had his way, it'd be Nashville vs. Atlanta in the Final

Don't you mean Nashville vs. Montreal that way a sun belt team can beat another Canadian one for the cup?

Yeah I see where you're coming from.. And his ankle won't be the same till the season is over when he can actually rest it... I don't think he will be 100% for the playoffs, but either way he'll have to have a broken ankle for him not to play

And yes he does need to get into game shape like you said, and that does take a couple of games

Does anyone know Hossa's stats since being traded? Seems to me like he has been really quiet. They had better hope he turns it up, do I smell bust?

He just came back from an MCL injury that he sustained in his first game as a Penguin.

His Pens stats are one goal and five assists in six games.

2 goals and 7 pts in 7 games after tonight. When Crosby comes back and they are put on a line together, I suspect he'll pick it up.
