At least thats what Ken and Micky said last night
If he is indeed "ChewChew" then they should celebrate by taking a huge bite of food and chewing. Quietly.
And the song has the right concept, i.e. want more goals, but it does seem like an odd choice for a hockey celebratory occasion. Oh well, probably just putting some local flavor into it. Would Detroit teams play Kid Rock so much if he wasn't local?

The toosie whistle is pathetic and annoying--a whistle to let the whole arena know that your third line checker is on the ice?---oookayy.
In regards to the song, just because it is a country song and they are in Nashville doesn't mean that it is right to play this song. Way to keep the arena pumped up after scoring a goal by playing a fast, exciting song...oh wait.
BTW:Can it please be tomorrow night already, so I can get this awful taste out of my mouth from last night

Suckage that it can't be
Actually they just resort to scoring again before the other goal is announced.... works like a charm... crowd just gets lit up.

I walked away from a guy Friday night who decided I needed to hear about how Shanny's jig music was the stupidest thing in all of hockey.

What I can't deal with is, "I LIKE IT, I LOVE IT, I WANT SOME MORE OF IT!!!" after every Nashville goal. I had to stab myself with a fork to take away from the pain.

In example of this... last night... this is what they would chant after scoring...
That's 1! That's 2! That's 3!
Thank you Hasek, may we have another?
He shoots, he scores, you suck!
I have a friend that I fly down and we go to the game down there, and he flys up here and he comes to the Joe... this is the only reason I know this...

I can understand how the Tootoo whistles annoy most other people. Not sure how the idea came about other than the whole Tootoo/Choo-choo train similarities, but fans can get the whistles for a minimum $10 donation to the Predators Foundation. So it is helping a good cause, even if everybody else in the league hates them.
"Fang Fingers" - I hate, hate, hate this. It's stupid, and most long-time Preds fans don't like it either. It was semi-funny the first year or two we had the team, but now it's old and makes us look like 6 year old kids. Before this season started the rumor (coming from people involved in the production of the games) was that there would be no more "Fang Fingers." I was overjoyed at the thought but quickly disappointed when 2 or 3 games into the season, it was back.
"I Like it, I Love It" - I'm a lifelong Nashville resident, but I can't stand country music, so I wish they would come up with something better. It's cool to have the local talent involved with the Predators I guess. But if the song is really getting on my nerves, it means the Preds are scoring a lot, so I can deal with that.
The post-goal chant - I'm not sure if this is what you're talking about, so if I'm wrong, please clarify. When the PA guy announces who scored the goal, assists, etc., at the end of that, they play the "roar" sound effect once for each goal that's been scored (example: "...That's Radulov, assisted by Dumont and Arnott." then one roar if it's our first goal, 2 roars if it's our second, etc. The chant, as the "roars" are played, goes..."That's one, that's two, Thank you Hasek, may we have another? He shoots, he scores, you suck!" Most of the arena only gets in on the "he shoots..." part, so that's what gets heard. Edit: I see that someone else has explained this while I was posting. He's right.
Hope this helps. Good luck in Game 4...

I was at a game that the portland pirates were up 5-0, the monarchs scored and the fans did this stupid chant, which led me to believe these people can't spell sieve.
If you are losing by 4 goals, which team do you think has the sieve in net!!!
In order to break news on this website the story must be no older than 2 minutes, if it is older than 2 minutes or on TSN it is on this board already, especially if it deals with the Winged Wheel!
"When I was looking for a captain, I wanted a guy with the Red Wings crest tattooed on his chest," said former Detroit coach Jacques Demers, who named Yzerman captain in 1986. "Steve Yzerman was that guy."

The Joe Plays the Rock 'n' Roll Part 2 song sometimes also... I love that song.
I remember for the Vipers it was.... "its all your fault.... Its all your fault... Sieve...Sieve....Sieve" after a goal

To be honest you're right, he hasn't done anything very serious on the physical front in this series. I just don't like him and never will regardless of how he decides to play I guess.

OH no, i wasn't trying to sway your opinion on him at all. I know how that goes.. I was just stating a fact i noticed this series. I wish he would get physical, cause we play better when we are physical. Lackluster hockey leads to early exits

Yes - fang fingers is juvenile and annoying. Glad you hate it. I could live without that one, for sure.
The goal song is ours. This is the country music city, and it's kinda cool that he recorded this version just for the Preds. It's there to stay - especially after Marty Turco was quoted in the Dallas press a year ago or so saying that he absolutely hated playing at the Sommet - something to the effect that every time they scored, they played this really stupid country song. "I hate that." So if it gets under the opposing goalie's skin, good!
I'm really posting, though, because I think the question was about the chant that comes immediately after the goal song, after the three "hey's": "We're gonna beat the he ll out of you - it's true - it's true - it's what we're gonna do" Or, as most of the fans chant because they don't know it - "it's true, it's true, it's true, it's true, it's true"
The crowd can usually just barely get it all in before the next faceoff.
It's definitely music city - we had a band outside the arena pregame yesterday in the 45 degree drizzle.
PS: as a Spartan - sorry, I used to love Justin Abdelkader, now I hate him. Oh well.

And if the Preds win tomorrow? You'll be back here on Sunday.
re: fang fingers - it gets on my nerves too sometimes. Tootoo whistles are ok.
Now a question for those who traveled down here for the games. At Least I'm assuming the people in the pictures in the freep are from Detroit. Detroit fans seem pretty dull at the Joe. The Sommet center was about to blow the roof off. Which atmosphere do you like better and why?
