Weird places you've worn the Winged Wheel.

I'm planning on wearing my Chelios jersey to class on Friday since we're going up to the game. However, class isn't the strangest place that jersey has shown up. That would be my Anatomy final exam, back in the beginning of March. :D

Sucker's good luck, I tells ya! :siren: Then again, I bumped into a classmate wearing a Lidstrom jersey afterward- let's just say there was a knowing nod. ;)

How about the other Wingnuts? Any weird places you've seen the Winged Wheel?

its not a weird place, but i wear it on tests days to my Organic Chemistry classes. I do it because my teacher is canadien and can not stand the wings. Coincidentally, i am American and i hate my teacher! haha. So it works out. He always gives me the look when i wear it in class. I make sure not to wear my Yzerman jersey on test days, for the obvious reason that Yzerman is a Canadien god so i Imagine that he wouldnt mind if i wore that jersey. The whole point is to piss him off. haha so i wear my Zetterberg or datsyuk jerseys. Also a little off topic, i had no idea how to answer one of his questions, so i started to write something that had to deal with Organic Chemistry, and then i read it over and it just made no sense, so i erased it and wrote a whole paragraph as to why the Detroit red Wings are the best team in the NHL. Needless to say i didnt get any points for that question but i think he liked the answer. He drew a smiley face and wrote -100 points on it. I found it funny.

When i used to be under age i would go to the canadian casinos or to the bars, and i would wear my wings jerseys all the time there. Needless to say people dont like that very much, but i always run into a few wings fans while im there and it puts me at ease. Ive also worn my Yzerman jersey to the hockey hall of fame. Thats really the only "weird" places i can think of.

Try walking Whyte Ave.(Blue Mile) in edmonton during the first round in 06... you all saw went on there, craziness. And trying to get into a few sports bars along the road, and gettin turned around a the door with the whole bar screaming at you. Or just everytime I wear it in public around here!

It's not the Winged Wheel, but I have Datsyuk's Team Russia jersey from the 2006 Olympics which has 'Datsyuk' written in gaelic on the back. I wore it when I volunteered at an elderly rec center and all of the old war veterans came up to me and asked me if I was a communist.

I live in Calgary. Wore it to the neighborhood pub for game one of '07 playoffs last year btwn Flames and Wings. I got a lot of stares, if it wasn't for my 9 other buddies wearing Flames jerseys my ass woulda been on the concrete the second I walked outta there, BTW, WINGS WON!!!!

Nothing like being the only one cheering in a pub full of 150+ Flames fans!!!:siren:

None of those are as crazy as where I wore mine in '02. We went to my work's company picnic at Hershey Park, which is about an hour from Philly. There were MANY Flyer fans there that day. I wore it the day they clinched a berth in the finals.

I made sure to sport my Hasek jersey when I was in Denver this past weekend. No one said anything. It made me sad because I miss that rivalry. I'd love to play those guys in the playoffs at some point this year.

Save the Predators Rally

I win :P

.

lol, Winner.

I was gonna wear mine to the last Blackhawks/Sharks game in Chicago, but i'm kinda glad I didn't. The hawks tied it up with about 30 seconds left, but the goal was disallowed because it was batted in with a hawks hand, and the crowd after that was PIIIIIIIIISSED! lol I woulda been a prime target (especially since earlier they booed Scotty Bowman)

As I live in London then every time I wear one of my Wings jersey's it's in a weird place!!

I wear one quite often around town and get some quizical looks on a crowded underground train!! I wore a Wings jersey to both of the Kings/Ducks games here at the start of the season. Also wore Wings jerseys whilst at games at Torino Olympics, wore my Yzerman jersey at a Canada game and everyone assumed I was Canadian which was weird for me!!

Went to visit family in Tampa earlier this season and wore my Zetterberg jersey to a Lightning game. Went to Sweden a few years ago with friend from Toronto to watch the Maple Leafs play exhibition games in Stockholm and wore my Fedorov jersey to both games.

Basically anywhere in/around where I live since hockey is like the 50th popular sport overall. :P

Seriously though, I rarely get any weird/snarky looks from people if I ever wear Wings apparel or the jersey thinking I am a clown, but it usually strikes up a brief conversation here and there with why I like hockey, who are good players or teams in the playoffs, or whatever else. Nothing blatantly towards the negative side.

I went out Saturday evening for dinner and a few drinks after the game and had my Wings Holmstrom jersey on and was watching the playoffs for the hour or so I was there and hockey was the icebreaker (:P) for me and a few people where I was around.

I'm fortunate to work at a job/company where I can dress casual more often than not wearing blue jeans and the like if I don't have a business meeting with a client or potential new business, so I've worn the jersey a few times this year during game days. The first time I wore it people in the office were making fun of me and were like, "What the heck is that?" in a joking way of course.

I'll probably wear it tomorrow during work since it's a game day.

I went out to Denver with my kid for four days to go to the x-games two years ago at the Pepsi center and wings Shirts was the only clothes I took. I also took my oldest boy to Daytona that year and wore our Red Wings jackets at the Chicago airport and the guy on the intercom said everyone could board the plane...except Red Wings fans are last.
