These GD threads crack me up. Yup, the Wings blew in the first but they played much better in the second. I don't know why anyone expected Detroit to dominate the Pred in the playoffs since every game for the past couple of years have been close and hard fought. The 8th place team in the West is light years better than the 8th place team in the East so let's drop those comparisons. I knew this was going to be a tough series and the Wings need to play better. It is a team effort and I won't put all of the blame on Hasek but IMO he has played average at BEST. He made some big saves but he has also let in some really crappy goals. Plenty of other players have made some seriously glaring mistakes but this is the playoffs and you expect your goalie to bail you out a few times. That has not really happened or if it has he has turned around and let in a garbage goal right away.

That being said, the Wings can win this game and the series they just need to step up and continue the effort that started in the second period.

OR what? Zetterberg will miss another open netter? Yeah i thought so.

lol what does Zetterberg's playing have to do with me telling you to shut your mouth about your stupid comment about women not being as smart as men when it comes to sports? I haven't been sitting here going on and on about Zetterberg just because he's my favorite player. I'm actually pretty smart when it comes to sports so I'd suggest you shut up.

1 goal a game, 2.5 goals a game...pretty much the same thing. And we actually outscored LA in that series.

That said, it was time to put in Osgood. The pucks weren't hitting Dom for whatever reason, some bad bounces (the puck hitting Kronwall's ass for one), some bad goals, and the team as a whole was playing like hell. Osgood's off to a good start, hopefully this is a kick in the ass to everyone and we can come back and get a W.

Im pretty sure we outscored them that series because we blew them out one game and lost 4 to 3 in another.

We also got shut out once and scored one goal twice.

It was a while ago, but Im pretty sure thats how it happened.

This is what Babcock needs to say during intermission...

Babcock: This is unbelievable. You guys are playing like this is some throw away game up in Rochester. Who we playing Rammer?

Lidstrom: Nashville.

Babcock: Yeah. You're damn right Nashville! In the Playoffs!

[Turns to Hasek]

BabcockWhat the hell is wrong with you? Put your gear on!

[pause]

Babcock: I said put your gear on!

Hasek: Osgood told me I can't play.

Babcock: Yeah, yeah, yeah I know. You got a bad bruise. You know what put youre street clothes on because I got no time for quitters!

Samuelson: Come on Mike! No body is quitting here!

Babcock: You worry about your own game. Plenty there to keep you busy.

Babcock: A bruise on the leg is a hell of a long way from the heart, candy ass.

Hasek: What'd you call me?

Babcock: You heard me!

Hasek: You want me to play huh? Is that what you want?

Babcock: I want you to be a hockey player!

Hasek: I AM A HOCKEY PLAYER! YOU WANT ME TO PLAY ON ONE LEG? HUH? I'LL PLAY ON ONE LEG!

then hasek comes out and plays like he did in 02!

you guys better know where thats from and SOMEBODY better reply to this cause that took forever hahaha.

Welcome to the boards! You picked a terrible day to join--lots of people are a bit pissy today. But I still believe!

Thanks, ya I can see that haha. Ah well, we all have a reason...I've wanted to bash my head in a few times during this game. Even if we don't win, as long as we steal some momentum at the end we have a good shot back in Detroit on Friday.

Our Superstar? Would Rick Nash Sidney Crosy Alex Ovechkin or any other REAL superstarts miss those open nets? Nope didn't think so.

You mean like the Alexander Ovechkin who has a feature article on him right now about his "playoff debut flop"?? You mean THAT Alexander Ovechkin??

What? Dats, Hank, Homer, Drapes, Raffi, Drake...all those guys are into it.

True, Raffi did make that nice pass to Dats and Drake had a good chance. That group has played well but it obviously hasn't been enough.

OK if you are really smart when it comes to sports then how many runs is the most runs that separate the 2 teams in baseball before it isn't qualified as a save for a Closer in baseball?

Ok it's time for my yearly first round rant.

Man, I'd really wish the NHL would get a clue. Their top two teams, this season, in the first round could be tied 2-2 after the first 4 games of their series. Both teams, with a couple bad breaks could be knocked out of the playoffs. Detroit Red Wings or not, but I don't think a League should treat their best teams this way. Anything can happen in a 7 game series.

I really wish they would cut down the number of playoff teams to 8 or 12. All these low seeds do is ruin the playoffs, dumb down the game, and people lose interest. They play spoilers a few round, and run out of gas in the later rounds.

Ok I've had my say.

Go Wings!! I said 4-3 Wings before the game, so I'm still in the running.
