MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 Ottawa went out with a whimper yet again, scoring five goals in four games to be swept by Pittsburgh. Daniel Alfredsson, Dany Heatley & Jason Spezza combined for two points in the four games. Ottawa will have a new head coach in October, but entirely possible that they will also have a new GM. One of the most rumoured names heading to Ottawa, specifically behind the bench, is Pat Quinn. Either way, heads should roll in Ottawa. That team is in serious need of a culture change. Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 Good, I hate Ottawa and almost all there players. Glad to see them out, and now CBC and TSN can stop talking about them all the time. I really hope Quinn doesnt go to Ottawa, I'd rather they stay bad. Quinn should go to Vancouver or Toronto.

96Homer 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 Woohoo Pittsburgh least they can get it done when it counts, I've been watching out for this series and was hoping they would win! My other favorite team to watch!

MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 (edited) alfredson (sp?) w/ the MCL tear? They said it in coaches corner when he was interviewed. Yeah, Mark Bell laid him out in the second-to-last game of the regular season. Edited April 17, 2008 by MacK_Attack
South Dakota wings fan 7 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 Yep, and it doesn't look too good for us either.... If we keep playing like this, we will be done in 6. Does anybody else wonder exactly what we are paying Rafalski $6 million to do out there? He looks lost. I also think the loss of Kopecky and his physicality has hurt. They interviewd Melnyk after the second period and said the Murray will be back next year. They just fired Muckler last year so I think he sticks around for a least one more year. alfredson (sp?) w/ the MCL tear? They said it in coaches corner when he was interviewed. Yes in fact it was a 3rd degree MCL tear. Unfortunately he was also one of their best players the last two games.
Zion 93 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 If the Wings lose game 5, this series is over. I still say Wings in 7... but I wouldn't put any money on it...
toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 The Pens completely dominated the entire series. The Pens won as a team, but it was clear that their star players were their best players in the series and you can't say the same about Ottawa. Interesting stat: Crosby and Malkin combined for 15pts in 4 games Spezza and Heatley combined for 2pts in 4 games
PunkChildP 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 Gerber did let in some weak ass goals though as well.. Ruutu's eventuaql game winner (or the one that put them ahaead 2-1) was weak as s***.

If you are placing even 5% of the blame on Gerber, you didn't really watch any of the series. He was probably one of the 3 stars of the series. If Gerber didn't play as well as he did, the results would have been downright ugly....well, uglier.
12Newf 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 gerber played surprisingly well. the sens just didnt show up and it was a pathetic performance. i dont know if this is still true but after game 3, mike commodore was the sens leading scorer. if that isnt a problem i dont know what is. wingslogo19 281 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 Toby I will agree with you that it wasn't Gerber's fault, he played well.. But like you said, The stars showed up for the Pens, and the same can't be said for the Sens

Yep, Commodore & Stillman led the team in playoff scoring with 2pts each. Hurricanes got fleeced on that trade

Tell me about it, some of these guys seem like they have no trust in this team. Remember round 1 and 2 last year, what did the series look like after game 4? A few of you need to get a grip and stop whining. Edited April 17, 2008 by RedWingedKitten
