Textbook 1 Report post Posted April 18, 2008 (edited) Paraphrasing from the Red Wings Live pregame show. The NHL has warned Detroit Red Wings manager of Ice operations, Al Sobotka, to refrain from swinging the octopus when it is removed from the ice. If he does not heed the warning, he risks a fine. The reason for this? It can "incite the fans." Cern 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2008 I'd say the ideal counter for this is for octopus-throwing fans to swing it around themselves before launching it onto the ice.
akustyk 84 Report post Posted April 18, 2008 this is simply ridiculous. everybody, including dumb NHL staff knows perfectly Al Sobotka will do this every time an octopus lands on JLA ice.

This is fricken retarded by the way and I still blame Nashville for all of this sh*t. Stupid rats.
Krystal 41 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 Alright, so it's settled.... when we're in the SCF - we'll go around the arena getting donations to stuff into a plastic bag.. wrap the octopus around it - and chuck it on the ice. We get our tradition, and we pay the fine f*** the NHL and their attempt to stranglehold every franchise. It's none of their concern how Detroit gets 'fired up'.
