Did Osgood pick on Drew Sharp in grade school?

It wasn't that I found the article negative or untrue, because I don't think Ozzie is the #1 reason we're winning. It is just annoying that the angle was to put Ozzie down instead of just saying that other players have been doing well. It was as if he had to make that the point of the article...which is annoying. Goaltending hasn't really been the issue, generally speaking in the past it's been inability to score against hot goaltending that's hurt us. I guess the title and theme just rubbed me the wrong way but the article wasn't bad.

Well, Dom was a liability out there and Oz came in and did everything possible to make the Wings bounce back. That can't be disputed. Franzen had one goal before Oz came in and allowed less defensive play and more freewheeling play. That I believe we can agree on. Zetts also struggled the later part of that series and hopefully bounces back full on next series. That we can agree on.

Sharp's tone, though.......hard to agree on. I took it as Oz being in the right place/right time, as if any goalie could do it?

I'd have Oz #3 minimum on that list to date, and obviously Franzen is #1 (just amazing.....and so enjoyable for a guy like him to step foreward and be hero despite the serious goal totals). I'd rank Lids second and Oz third just like this guy did as a matter of fact.

It's not that "such heresy offends the loyal membership of the Chris Osgood Deification Society." Quite the contrary. It's just the small digs on a difference maker as to make it sound like he's insignificant when compared to the group of guys who didn't do a lot with Dom playing bad. Perhaps a comment on the vital importance of a solid backup on team psyche, the benefit of a stable and solid goaltender on the offense and the unheralded and softspoken goalie's importance to the next two rounds.

I'd have him in the top three just for Lidstrom's praise bestowed upon him alone, nevermind his stats and clutch play (which is what's MOST important as Manny/CuJo fans have learned I assume). Glad to see him shine and I could care less if he gets zero votes for MVP........just so long as he gets us there in the end.
