Morrow Blows Up Michalek

Trust me, I know its a part of the game. I not saying people dont get hurt, Im saying its sad to see fans wishing other players will get hurt cause it will make it easier for their team to go further in the playoffs. It was a great hit, and Im a Stars fan so I loved the hit, just not that he got hurt. If you watched the game Im sure you saw the guy who was on the phone and waving while Michalek was sitting on the ground!!! What a dumbs***!

Like I said, I have no problem with the hits, I love them infact. They get fans more into the game when their is a good hit, There is just no reason to wish injury on other players. If they didnt mean what it sounded like they were saying, I appoligize, I was wrong. But if they did mean how I took it, them shame on them. Any real hockey fan would agree.

I'm with you as well. I'd love to see Kronwall hit guys like he has been so far in the playoffs- good, clean hits where we all shout and yell for our buddy to come watch the replay, but neither player is injured. It really, really sucks that Mich was hurt on that play and I'm sure Morrow wished him no harm.

I've watched all the Dallas games so far (my gf is a Dallas fan) and I've been really impressed with their play. This series is going to be really challenging for both sides and we're about to see some entertaining hockey!

Go WINGS! :D

Morrow is absolutely crazy. That was one of the biggest hits I've ever seen (legal).

Michalek needed a LONG time to get up from that one. Whew...haven't heard anything but I hope he's alright. <_<

They showed him leaving the game and his arm was in a sling but he was walking just fine. I haven't heard what exactly the injury was though. When the hit happened Michalek stayed face down a long time, I thought he might be hurt really bad so it was good to see him walking around.

I don't think anyone here is wanting them hurt but everyone loves a big hit and love players that can lay one on a guy. I do agree about the guy with the phone though, if you noticed he was trying to take pictures while Michalek was still face down on the ice and not moving. There are always jerks like that but most fans aren't and when Michalek got up most of the fans at the game clapped for him and that was in Dallas again showing the injury is not what fans want but only the hard work, sacrificing the body for the play, and making the other team think twice about having the puck, looking down, or holding it too long to make a play.

P.S. Welcome to the forum - good luck to Dallas in the next round - lets have a good series and then the Wings can go on to beat whomever comes out of the East.

hey Trevor. If you were seeing us wishing injury on Ott, Madonna, ToMorrow, etc, it'd be more like: (Warms up his Drill Instructor Hartman voice)

I HOPE HOLMSTROM CUTS OFF TURCO'S HEAD AND s***S DOWN HIS NECK!

DON'T FALL ON THE ICE ZUBOV, THAT WOULD BREAK MY ******* HEART!!!

ZETTERBERG IS GONNA GOUGE OUT YOUR EYES AND ********* YOU!

I think that clears it up a bit. GO WINGS!

Maybe its just me, but I feel like its quite pathetic you wish other NHL players get hurt!!! Especially since you singled out players that might challenge your team in the WCF.

Meh..

Does it matter what people wish?

I doubt that anybody here has enough telepathic ability to make their wishes come true out there on the ice even though they're not playing in the game.

I'll be the first to admit that I want to see guys like Pronger and Forsberg get hurt, and that I do wish injury on guys like that out and on several other scum in the NHL. My wishes aren't going to change anything, though, and it doesn't make me a horrible person either, since I've met too many of those in my life, and I don't qualify.

GMR, people are just looking to be offended. Seems like its gotten worse the past 15 years.

Do I want to see Franzen hit Zubov so hard he has to leave the game and maybe not finish the series? Abso-*******-lutely!

Do I want Zubov to have any lingering or long term affects of being hurt. Of course not. I hope he's 100% healed...................after the series is over.

People take everything at face value and have lost the ability to read between lines or to take a small helping of perspective and rationale when they read things others say.

Like if I say "man, i want to f-ing kill Jordin tootoo!" Does anybody think I want to really kill Tootoo? Seriously?

People have thin skins and the vast majority of folks are candy asses. I just tell them to get over it.

That hit was amazing. How amazing? Amazing enough to drag me out of LGW retirement, apparently. :hehe:

Hockey needs more of this kind of stuff (that is, physical obliteration of the legal variety) and less of this "OH NO! YOU'RE WISHING BAD THINGS ON SOMEONE!" fluff talk. Do I wish bad things on players? No (with a few glaring exceptions, naturally). But face it: this is a professional contact sport with a lot of history, some absurdly passionate fan followings, and an inherent emphasis on the value of rough stuff. Venom is built into the machinery.

But that's tangential. What matters is that Morrow is a beast. Just an awesome player. If there's one guy left in these playoffs who can wreak havoc against the Wings, it's him.

This should be a great series. Can't wait!

Are you basing this off of your newly found hatred for the wings or the 1 good year Morrow has had in the playoffs.

Yeah you are right if there is one guy left in the playoffs that can hurt the wings it isn't Crosby, Malkin, Hossa, MA Fluery, Martin Biron, Marty Turco, Brad Richards, RJ umberger, Briere, nope just the one guy who over his career has shown the kind of success that Morrow has shown!!! edit:oops wrong name!

Is it the hit that brought you out of Retirement or the fact that you are tired of waiting for the wings to fail so you can say I told you so?

Just curious!!

It was a clean hit. A very, very big clean hit. I'm a Sharks fan and can't find fault with it, even if I wish it hadn't happened.

Milan's reportedly fine. No broken bones, but they're waiting to hear the full medical report. He should be back to full speed come the fall.

OH BOY YOU GOT ME THERE!111

As terrible as the Stars were in Game 1, I think Morrow's play (e.g. playing the body, almost taking Hank out, scoring their lone goal) supports my point. Morrow, to me, is a bigger threat to the Wings than a guy like Brad Richards is because Morrow plays with an edge, sometimes with reckless abandon. The fact that you picked Turco as a guy who's every bit as dangerous proves that if one of us has blinders on, it's you.

Wings own Turco. Always have, always will.
