Rumor: Franzen Out with Possible Blood Clot?

Rate this topic

ye but u would need extensive tests to find a blood clot in your brain im sure just your team doctor cant find that s***. man, this is f***ed...:(

Actually, the symptoms of a clot in the brain are pretty distinctive and severe- a massive stroke. If it truly were a clot in the brain, he'd be dead by now.

ok if they are now worried about a blood clot and it possibly in or near the brain... wouldn't he be rushed to intensive care to have it checked out? And if that had happened I'm sure we would have heard something about it... They seem to be pretty relaxed about it if they are waiting until Monday to have him checked out. Just my thoughts. I'm hoping it is just a pinched nerve or something minor.

Now you're thinking medically. :)

Look, folks. Let me say it really clear. The Mule has no clot. How do I know?

Simple. If it were a clot on the brain due to a bleed, he'd in all likelihood be dead or hospitalized in serious condition right now. Remember, these headaches have been going on for about 2 weeks. If it were a clot from a deep-vein thrombosis (from sitting too long, for example), he'd be in the hospital already- as soon as they suspected it.

Given those, it rules out a clot pretty well. That leaves my personal bet- a pinched nerve. Drop the $500 for a professional to perform the Rolf technique and loosen it up, and he would be clear to play in game 4.

If it was something as substantial as a blod clot in his brain, they wouldn't wait 3 days to get him evaluated. Perhaps he been check out already and detroit is simply waiting to announce something official to throw Dallas off on their game-plan, but that seems...tasteless.

Detroit general manager Ken Holland said Franzen has had headaches -- which the GM described as "nothing significant" -- since playing the Colorado Avalanche earlier this month, and they haven't subsided.

"We don't know if he's had a concussion," Holland said. "We're hoping to find out more after he goes through various tests this weekend and sees a specialist on Monday."

Maybe they ran "various tests this weekend" and thinks he has a blood clot..

I hope he will be alright too. The first concern is his health but I can't even imagine the loss of impact the team would suffer without him.

A day-to-day injury isn't nearly as bad as an out for the playoffs injury. I am speaking of course concerning team psyche.

Hooray for med school Wings fans

I figured it couldn't be a clot in the brain, but I was worried about a clot somewhere else, so thanks for clearing that up.

BCraft

here is the deal

I was talking with someone who had inside access

to the team this weekend. He told me

that franzen was out for the series and probably more with a

blood clot

he said the team was waiting for confirmation to announce it

This person is not with the red wings organization but did directly speak with frazen himself

Take it for what its worth

I don't chase down info like I used to but this one fell into my lap

Who knows what to think.

:/ Not good at all.

If it's true (knock on wood), I hope Philly somehow comes back and wins their series. Would be much easier to handle.
