MississippiWing 14 Report post Posted May 13, 2008 As I read all the recaps, I can't help but shrug at how easily people are blowing off the Red Wings. With Dallas down 3-0 and the possibility of a sweep around the corner, it seems like every article talks about how tough their road was to the conference finals and how they ran out of gas. I don't remember anything like that last year when the Wings had a similar road. I just remember articles about how it was another playoff disappointment from the Wings. I hope that Detroit destroys and sweeps whoever is in the Stanley Cup finals. Maybe then everyone will say "hey these guys are as good as advertised. They would win no matter who they played." At that painful moment a light turned on in my head not only telling me that I had forgotten to wear my cup that day, but also that I would never be able to please a gal again. Burnside has said the series is as good as over, even with Dallas playing to their ability. Billy Ray Candy Ass has all but got on his knees and serviced all 4 lines. The Wings were never considered the favorite by a large number of analysts, and now all of them are picking us? I bet it'll all change when we face the Pens, we'll be back to underdogs. As I've said in other threads, fans of the Red Wings can spin stories one way, and fans of other teams can spin the exact same column/analysis absolutely the other way that the Red Wings have had the referees in their pockets, VS annoucers are actually biased towards the Wings and actually not giving the Stars excuses, etc. etc., fans of a third or fourth team can spin the exact same story even a 3rd or 4th way due to their fan bias and so forth. I don't know what you have been watching, but from paying half-assed to NHL Network and ESPN recaps lately about the Red Wings, plenty of analysts have been humping their legs and stroking their egos plenty.
