high_stick69 7 Report post Posted May 23, 2008 Hey kids! What kind of affect do you think the layoff will have on Franzenstein? Doesn't he still have his goal streak going? How will the pressure of the goal streak, coupled with the pressure of the finals affect him? I'd sure like to see him return to the "looks like he's been shot out of a cannon" form he was in earlier in the playoffs, but can you really take 2 weeks off and be at your peak? Thoughts? NHLrules? 32 Report post Posted May 23, 2008 Lets just get him back first. If he comes back he will be fine, he has learned how to get to the spots goals are scored and the other players will feed him once again.
Dabura 12,207 Report post Posted May 23, 2008 I remember seeing him on the bench after a ridiculously long shift in the Avs series. Flip and Sammy were sucking wind, practically dying. Mule...Mule was perfectly fine. Point being, I think he was in absurdly good shape before he went down, so I don't imagine he'll show much rust. Maybe in his first few shifts. Adidarw 35 Report post Posted May 23, 2008 Lets just get him back first. If he comes back he will be fine, he has learned how to get to the spots goals are scored and the other players will feed him once again. Is it not ok to speculate here?? I think he'll be slow to start but after a game or two he'll be back in tip-top shape.
esteef 2,679 Report post Posted May 23, 2008 He'll be fine. Remember, he's been playing very well but is in no way expected to carry any major load with the likes of Dats, Zetts, Lids, Raffy, etc on our team. Just pitch in a little, which he'll do. esteef
Spinner 6 Report post Posted May 23, 2008 I heard that they're just taking their time letting him back because he has to get adjusted to his new bionics.
Shaman 713 Report post Posted May 23, 2008 His presence means a lot alone, thats one more person they have to watch, meaning someone else is freed up.
GMRwings1983 8,794 Report post Posted May 23, 2008 Hopefully better than Cleary and Homer when they came back from injury. I think he'll be fine if he returns, but I'm still speculative on whether he'll be back at all.
10 Minute Misconduct 104 Report post Posted May 23, 2008 It'll take him a period or two to get back in the swing of things.
Seraph 240 Report post Posted May 23, 2008 I think the biggest impact will be psychological for both the Wings to feel like they aren't a man down, and for the Pens, to know the leading scorer is back. I don't know if he'll be having back to back hat tricks or the like right out of the gate.
j.hoop 64 Report post Posted May 23, 2008 i bet hes so hungry for goals, and tired of sitting on the sidelines watching em go in
csf2007 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2008 If Franzen plays 3+ game in this series i cannot see him scoring like he did in the Nashville and Colorado series. He may bee good for several minutes/game and a goal or two, but nothing crazy like before (hope I am wrong!).
dallas27 7 Report post Posted May 24, 2008 Lacing up the skates is like riding a bike, if you are a hockey player yourself, I believe you'd agree. Two weeks is nothing. He'll fall right back into place.
