Reds4Life 51 Report post Posted May 25, 2008 The Detroit Red Wings have signed forward Dick Axelsson and defenseman Logan Pyett to three-year entry level contracts. In keeping with team policy, additional terms of each contract were not disclosed. Axelsson was drafted by the Red Wings in the second round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. He played for Djurgardens Stockholm of the Swedish Elite League in 2007-08. Axelsson finished the season with 12 goals and 13 assists in 47 games. Pyett was a seventh round selection of the Red Wings in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. He captained the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League in 2007-08 and finished the season with 20 goals and 34 assists in 62 games. Yeah, our defensemen prospects are really deep and promising.. Hopefully, Ericsson will play next year, Kindl should stay one more year with Griffins. Pyett looks really good too.
