Getting a little nervous, Detroit fans?

I really don't think that's the case.

The Pens players know full well that they were dominated completely in the 2nd half of that game.

They knew full well that they were never, ever gonig to score 5-on-5 against us.

And they also know that not even lottery winners were as lucky as they were last night.

Right now they're all thinking "OMG! We couldn't even come close to skating with them. If Fleury isn't having the game of his life we will lose each and every time against that team. They are owning us in all aspects of this series".

And that's the truth. One man won that game for them last night. Their forwards were transparent.

Hudlers' carelessness with his stick gave them the only chance they had in winning that game. And good for them that they used it.

Because if that penalty doesn't happen this series is already done.

Only Crosby and Hossa can do anything even strength. Malkin looks like he wishes he and his hippo-jaw were safe at home, at ground ZERO of Chernobyl.

If you think that's what is truly going through their minds then all hope is lost for you. They just a forced a game 6 AT HOME in triple overtime. If you think the Pens players aren't pumped and don't have all the confidence in the world then pass whatever you're smoking.

But honestly, I guess I am the only one, but yeah I am nervous. I'm not saying the sky is falling, or it's all over, but I definitely feel anxious. I mean anytime you have oyur foot on your opponent's neck and then take it off, anything can happen. Even though I am convinced Detroit is the better team, a couple lucky bounces here and there and anything can happen. If the Pens somehow manage to win game 6, anything can happen in game 7. So while I am still confident in the Wings abilities, I don't think this series is as over as some of my fellow Wings (and I guess some Penguins) fans think it is.

Sums up my feelings too

nope. not nervous at all. angry, yes....confident, DEFINITELY. wings ran the pens up and down last night like they normally do. just didn't turn out how we all wanted it to.

got this far, saw basically how i feel, quoted it.

more than anything I'm furious about some fluky goals, extremely soft goalie interference penalties, not one but two, and in OT no less. Hudler penalty was earned, but it should have been the first kill, not the third.

but in the end, the Wings dominated play and its sad sometimes when a team dominates play that heavily and manages to lose a game, especially this time of year.

remaining extremely confident, and if anything, it will be nice not to have fans chanting "we want the cup" with half a period left to play up by one, that was ridiculus.

Go Wings, win it in Pitt

You know what, I'm going to go ahead and say this right now:

I have to give alot of credit to the Penguins. I really expected them to come to Detroit and lay down (almost). I figured Detroit would kill them pretty easily and we'd have game in hand by the end of the first. But come on, the rest of us have to admit, it took alot of guts for the Pens to come in and get a win out of JLA. I mean, with us able to win the cup THAT NIGHT and a big win the previous game in their building, it took alot of courage and admiration and I respect the hell out of the Pens for pulling that off.

I'm going to say as well that I'm quite concerned now. I have not been worried much in this series until right now. Game 6 there may be a better chance for us to win than a game 7 here. I say that becuase the wings appear to be nervous in front of their own fans rather than other team's fans. I like our chances better tomorrow than in a game 7, and that is really scary to me. Think about what might be on the minds of the red wings if this series goes to a game 7. You had the entire town ready to celebrate and game 5 was just a formality. Everybody EXPECTED a win. I think it may be in the wing's minds that they were 34 seconds away from a cup win and they lost and don't want to become arguably one of the worst ways to lose a cup in the history of the game.

I know this team is resiliant, but I mean, that is ALOT of pressure to live up to. I think the Wings may take the "business" approach to the game tomorrow and go in there and get it done, but we'll see. The Pens have all the momentum right now. My worst fear is that Malkin starts waking up, and that they keep getting the bounces and scoring goals like that.

Do I think the Pens are better team than Detroit? No. Detroit clearly has shown when they want to, they can take it to the Pens and there's not much the Pens can do except hold on. But the Pens aren't a weak team either. They have too much talent to screw around with, and if they had a bit better of a supporting cast, they'd be every bit as good as the Red Wings.

Just my 2 cents.

Just wondering if a crushing loss like that has raised the fear factor any.

Doo bee doo bee doo.

Not for me at least. That game last night was awesome. The best I have seen in a long time. It had highs and lows. It had the Pens playing desperate at times. The end result you can't argue with. Hudler high sticked someone, and the Pens scored on the power play. Talk about taking advantage of your opportunities.

Detroit leads the series 3-2, and the Pens will have to win 2 more games. Let me be the first to say if the Pens do win this series and drink from Lord Stanley, then they would have deserved it. The Wings fans will blame certain players, the refs, and/or Bettmen. In the end though, when they look back on the series, the only one they will have to blame is themselves.

However, Detroit is still in the drivers seat.

On a personal note, I am happy that we get to watch more hockey.

Why do we let Pens fans come on here, just to make smart ass, antagonizing posts?

It's the Finals, genius, everyone is nervous, including you, who was probably s***ting his pants during last night's game, knowing that each shot could end your team's season.

nope. we were 32 seconds away from being champs with a lack luster effort except in the third.

If we lose i will be shocked as we have shown we are the better team.

Agree that it was disappointing - but hats off to Fleury and Talbot for putting some energy back into their team. I thought Detroit did great most of the game and messed up at the worst possible moments.

What an exciting 3rd period, though eh? I think that this loss will just make the revenge that much more sweet when they get fired up for game 6 in Pitts. Remember game 6 in Dallas? I do.

Thing is despite everything Detroit is really playing better than the 'guins... great passing, team defense, excellent puck-handling and control... but a few on the Penguin line really played like it was their last shot and you have to hand it to them for that.

We know Detroit isn't going to give up - they've been here before and they have the experience to grind it out either in 6 or 7. I'm glad to see that most of the poor sportsmanship of the Pens has been replaced with hard work and determination... and finally some of the announcers have been calling out Detroit's great skills!

It doesn't have to be a pretty win - just grind it out guys! GO WINGS!

nervous? of course i'm nervous. i'll be nervous until the final buzzer rings and the wings have more goals than the pens. i'll be nervous that when they shake hands, that the pens will remain as classless as they've been all series. i'll be nervous when zetterberg picks up his conn-smythe that it breaks into little pieces in his hands. i'll be nervous that Captain Nick may lose an edge when he hoists the Cup after game 6 or 7 and hit the ice.

i'm just a nervous kinda guy.

If Detroit wasn't the better team for most of the game, it'd still be a big maybe. But they were. The had a rough first period that most likely can be attributed to nerves, but they're clearly the better team. Osgood knows how to bounce back strong and has shown that in the past. We won't come out so soft in the 1st again and in game 6, it'll be your Pens dealing with the nerves and pressure that home ice brings in situations like this. I think Pittsburgh could very well win a close game 6 on home ice to stay alive. I don't think they're as great as the Wings are at this point, but they're a great team and they're not going to give up. But as objectively as I can look at it, it's still clear that Detroit is the better team. They will learn from this and come back stronger to finish this series out. I don't doubt that and I'm not worried. I'm only nervous about missing the party atmosphere a bit if we win it on the road.

Nervous? Nope. Disappointed in not winning it last night? Sure.

Before the series I picked the Wings in 6 and there's no reason to deviate from that now.

QFT. That pretty much sums it up for me too.

Naw, not nervous. It would have been great to win it at home but I guess now we will just have to win it in Pitt and show them what they wish they had.

Wings rule, Pens drool (sorry, but I had to add that)

As far as the loss being "crushing"?? It was triple overtime dude... to me "crushing" is what we did to the Avs.

Hey, the thread starter made me laugh a little.

Pressure has BEEN and will continue to BE on Pittsburgh. It's lose and go home. Even if the Pens squeak out a win tomorrow, i'm not all that concerned. There is NO way God's team will lose another game on home ice.

And as much as every is on Crosby's yknow what, he hasn't led the Pensguins anywhere yet, and doesn't look ready to. Cut through the bulls***, he has been a non-factor. Just like everyone says Malkin has been.

Either tomorrow, or Saturday - when i'll be surrounded by ALOT of non-Wings fans at a huge BBQ, the Wings WILL bring Stanley home where he should've been last year.

Doo bee doo bee doo.

The Wings still have to lose twice more to a team that can't get pressure 5 on 5 if their lives depended on it, and need their own goalie to be otherworldly just to have a shot. Your entire ******* board save for one or two people all counted your own team out when the Wings third goal went in last night.

I have news for you. Dan O'wtfwhatabadcall isn't reffing game 6, either.

I hope you go to game 6.

Take pictures of Stanley as its being skated around your rink because thats as close as this team of flukes will ever be to it. Punk.
