Nort 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2008 Calder: Kane. He had some injuries, but I don't feel there's anyone who can equal him. Backstrom had a great season as well, but he had some stellar linemates; Kane had Toews and nobody else, and he had a great season. Toews, of course, merits a nod as well, but his play isn't as mature as Kane's in my opinion. Just have to chime in here. Kane deserves the Calder, but he played 82 games to Toews' 64 so that helped him out a lot in that race. I don't see why Kane is more mature or even really a better player than Toews. Toews had more goals than Kane even though he played 18 fewer games. Toews is also a better defensive player. I still think Pittsburgh made a huge mistake taking Staal over Toews.
