Congratulations! All coaches dream of steering the ship. He is coming into a very talented team and won't have to live with too much losing. Great position to step into. Hope he never wins 1 game against Detroit.

Congrats McClellan! Now we need to secure a strong assistant coach Babcock! I am really hoping that we could somehow get The Professor, Mr Larionov back in to Detroit - but that's probably a long shot. Joey Kocur? Is Barry Smith available, let's steal him back from the baby coach Gretzky.

Will be nice to see a familiar face when I go to the Wings/Sharks games next season. Sad thing is its on the wrong bench. ^_^

My brother-in-law (a huge sharks fan) is going to hate this. Especially when I tease him that the sharks might do better this year now that they might get some hockeytown experience behind the bench.

Best of luck

Now he's gonna make the sharks play exactly like detroit :(

don't think so. they're built with different type of players.

and it would take time for them to rebuild into puck-possesion

mode. a lot of time and adjustments.

He deserves it for sure....

Interesting thing is that Babcock gave credit to Todd for the Wings success on the PP this season.... Curious on how of if it will be effected or changed...

...now who steps in to replace him? Murphy? McCarty? Larionov? Marc Crawford? Spuddy?

Is D-Mac gonna coach and play? Will he be the Reg Dunlop of the NHL? :D
