Pi

I'd love to see someone with something weird like that as a number. There's some guy in the NBA with the number 0 isn't there?

I definitely see him going with 81. That's the common technique players use when their number is taken. Although I guess I wouldn't rule out him taking another number in the teens seeing as who knows if he'll be here longer than one season. I sure hope we can fit him in and he stays longer and enjoys it here, but we'll cross that bridge later in the season most likely. Hossa #81

Not the food, the number

Pi

e is a constant, like pi. It means 2.71 or thereabouts.

EDIT: Someone got there first, my bad. I like 66, funny.

he will wear 74 (for the 7.4 million).....but I wish he'd wear 00, no one ever uses double zero and I think that's a shame

Nobody wears 00 because it's not allowed. It was allowed once upon a time, but the league has altered the number rules (for some reason) to make it so no player can wear 0 or 00.

The last person to wear 0 was Martin Biron in Buffalo in 1996. The others were John Davidson and Neil Sheehy (a defenseman).

My vote would be for 81, while we're here.

Eric Montross wore it when he was drafted by the Celtics (I don't know why I know that . . .) and Gilbert Arenas (Washington Wizards) is probably who you are thinking about.

My money is on #81, it makes me think of another sniper that played for us . . . #91

12 is retired, so no dice there.

However, this will no longer be an issue. In a bold move for diversity, the NHL will remove its ban on non-Arabic numbers, and will allow Roman numerals equal status.

Hossa will wear XVIII.

In a related story, Chris Osgood's personal website will receive a record number of hits from guys looking for porn.

All I know is that as soon as he decides I will be ordering one.

I had a Hossa jersey for the Thrashers games (I live in Atlanta now and have season tickets). He was my favorite player in Atlanta and I will be ready to grab a RBK Premier.

I just got my Lidstrom RBK Edge with the SCF patch. Let me just say.. It is very nice. :)

As a Detroit Red Wing, Hossa should wear number 17. Here's why:

'97 - Doug Brown wears 17. Red Wings win Stanley Cup

'98 - Doug Brown wears 17. Red Wings win Stanley Cup

'02 - Brett Hull wears 17. Red Wings win Stanley Cup

'08 - Dallas Drake wears 17. Red Wings win Stanley Cup

If you ask me, he shouldn't even be given a choice. :)

What about the many years Detroit had a number 17 and didn't win the cup, maybe we should ban the number all together.
