Does anyone know when tickets will go on sale?

Dunno, but I'm interested as well (gonna surf Ticketmaster in a minute). Trying to get a group of family together to go to the HP Pavilion (Shark tank). Want to get them ASAP as good seats are gone in the blink of an eye.

Schedule Notables:

- Home & Home Series against: Atlanta (Hello...Hossa), Pittsburgh (Hello...Hossa) and Buffalo

- The Eastern Conference teams Detroit plays a Home & Home to are all from different divisions

- For all those in the Midwest Area: Detroit plays all 3 games against Chicago either on a weekend day or a national holiday (January 2nd, Winter Classic)

- Aside from the Pittsburgh Home & Home with Detroit, every game the Wings play against the Atlantic Division will be at home

- Aside from the Atlanta Home & Home with Detroit, every game the Wings play against the Southeast Division will be away

- Aside from the Buffalo Home & Home with Detroit, the Red Wings will host 2 games against the Northeast teams TOR & MTL and will visit OTT & BOS

Most likely: 24 Divisional, 40 Conference, 18 Eastern Conference Games (meaning they'll play 3 teams twice)

Did I call that or what! :sly:

It looks like Ticketmaster is just taking deposits for season tickets right now.

Habs the day before Thanksgiving? I thought it was awesome that the Titans are playing the Lions on turkey day and now I can plan on an O6 match up the day before, makes the trip 10 times better.

Please forgive me for being a Titans fan, the Lions were the only team I couldn't root for during my youth in Michigan.

Center ice is about $150 for the season. I am a hockey nut, and watch more than just the Wings. For me, any live hockey game on TV is a good thing. So I buy into the Center Ice package every year on TV. $150 is small change when you consider how much hockey tickets are, drive time, gas, taxes, and so on. I live in Grand Rapids, and I can't even see a game in Detroit/Chicago for $150 for 2 people by the time you factor in gas, time, parking, and other expenses.

I have been buying into the Center Ice package since the season before the lockout, and I have enjoyed each and every year I have had it.

Pros:

See every regular season game and 1st two rounds of the playoff games.

The HD feeds are very nice

Very reasonably priced

Sometimes you catch games that aren't commercially interrupted so you can hear what the announcers are saying, and watch video of them working on what they will replay or you can watch what is going on when the players are at their benches.

Cons:

They cut the feed too quickly sometimes. Would be nice to see the postgame wrapups all the time.

The hockey night in canada feeds are all SD. Would be nice to see them in HD.

Wish all games were in HD instead of just 1/2 of them.

Wish they would show all preseason games that are televised normally.

My advice, do it. :)

they seem to always cut the feed almsot as soon as 3 stars are done, and no pregame show either from what i remember, just the usual starting goalies part, only other con is too many nashville games give you the nashville feed :)

I made the schedule (quick & dirty) into a tab-delimited text file, so you can import it into Outlook or whatever.

Go to http://andyandnoreen.com/redwings.html and then right-click/save the text file at the link. The times are all Eastern time.

For bonus ninja points, if you are not in the eastern (US) time zone, change your PC's timezone to eastern, import the text file, then set it back to your real time zone, then all of the times will be right. (this worked for me in XP on Outlook 2007).

This file and the instructions come with no warranty. Offer not valid in all 50 states. Professional drivers used. Do not try this at home. May cause drowsiness, headaches or priapism.

Mar 17 - Flyers

That is easily going to be a grand spent on hockey, But its a beautiful. Columbus on my Bday. Anaheim because those are usualy heated games and Flyers because im looking forward to Steve Downie gooning it up.

No one should have to apologize for not being a Lions fan. :D

Does anyone know when tickets will go on sale?

And around what time will the Stanley Cup banner be raised during the home opener? 7:30, 8:00?

EDIT: Also, if I left Kalamazoo around five, could I get to Detroit around 7:30? Thanks, I've never made that trip before so I don't know.

Its almost an exact two and a half hour drive from Kzoo to Detroit, so you would be cutting it really close.

Well, being that I'm going to college in the South I'm hoping to catch the Wings either in October when they play the Hurricanes or in March when they play the Thrashers. Both arenas are equal distance for me during the school year.

Here's to hoping seeing the Wings for the first time in person this upcoming season!

Do you not pay attention?

The NHL said there would not be home and away games w/ every team months ago.

They chose to follow the 3rd year of the 3 year deal.

I seriously thought they were going to go with 2 games against every EC team this year and was all pumped for it.

Seems like an alright schedule.... Toronto for the home opener should be a really neat game, but it's too bad we don't play in Toronto as well.... One of my biggest complaints is the new years eve game not happening this year.... Thats something I've always remembered being so excited to watch every year since I was a kid, but this proves even more tradition doesn't matter to the NHL......
