BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted July 24, 2008 I love Detroit, but Boston is titletown. Celtics - Current NBA champs and and most all-time NBA championships Patriots - 3 Super Bowls in the last 7 years Red Sox - Current World Series champs, one in 2004, and 5 others to boot Bruins - Ahh, what the hell... 5 Cups! Looks like Titletown, USA to me.
henrik40 76 Report post Posted July 24, 2008 I'll vote for Detroit but I bet it will end up being Boston or some little town famous for high school football titles.

Sparty13 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2008 It blows that UofM football and hockey and MSU basketball and hockey couldn't be included in Detroit. I mean New England is 4 hours away from Boston so why the hell don't they include AA and EL???
octopusonice 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2008 I voted a few times for Detroit, but can't see them winning. I doubt if you'll get very many votes outside of Michigan on this one. It looks like Boston will win it.

I mean New England is 4 hours away from Boston so why the hell don't they include AA and EL??? Your numbers are a little screwy (Boston is in New England and if you meant the Pats, they're really only about 45 minutes from Boston.) But I always thought the same about this thing......if Boston gets to include the Patriots, which are closer to Providence than Boston, then Detroit should get to include Ann Arbor and the championships won by U-M. Take away Foxborough and the Boston case is suddenly very weak.
pjgj13 30 Report post Posted July 24, 2008 (edited) I posted this before but people seem to forget about the Spirit (CBA), Panthers (USFL), Drive (AFL), Vipers (IHL), Turbo (MLL). All these teams won titles and several won the respective league titles in the inaugural season. What city has won the most titles in the last.... 10 years? Boston (Det 2nd) 15 years? Detroit 20 years? Detroit 25 years? Detroit Of course this is off the top of my head but if someone can correct this, correct me. Of course it doesn't include UM & MSU which have won quite a few other titles. <slow response from server caused the double post> Edited July 24, 2008 by pjgj13
Barrie 900 Report post Posted July 24, 2008 You mean to tell me the fans are voting on Titletown? I'm sorry, but what a joke! You know 90% of fans are going to vote for their hometown. This whole thing is stupid. Oh by the way, I still voted. New York got my vote.
