You get embarrassed, or get ripped on for beating a team 70-3. I understand they need 8 home games for the next X years to pay off the renovations, and that creates a bad scenario because big schools want home/home series, but that could have been prevented. Martin screwed up by agreeing to a 500 year extension with Notre Dame. Maybe if Martin said no ND would actually join the Big Ten. As long as Notre Dame has the NBC deal in place, they'll never join the Big 10. But you're absolutely right, nothing good comes from playing I-AA teams. If you win its BFD. You were supposed to win. If you lose. Well, we know what happens when you lose. Part of the reason I'm annoyed that MSU is playing Montana State to open the season in the fall. Sure, the MSU v. MSU matchup is nice and all, but there had to be someone better they could have played. Hell, I'd rather schedule a 3rd MAC school than play a I-AA school.
