Superman54 91 Report post Posted August 9, 2008 Edmonton looks to be more of a threat this year then before. They got better, and even with the # of injuries they had last year the team still managed to play over par. Its just one of those teams that scare me when facing them. chrisdetroit 189 Report post Posted August 9, 2008 Funny you mention that and forget the fact I said they are becoming (in the process of) the new Avalanche. Goalie who has brought his team to two stanley cup finals (MVP in one as well), Western conference champs against us the year before we won it, a cheapshotting player everyone despises (Pronger, Lemuiex and I know I spelled it wrong), physical games between the two, etc etc. Seriously. The Ducks were not competative last year despite all the media hype. They made the playoffs despite having nobody that could score goals and promptly got bounced in the first round. They have really added nobody that can improve their scoring and after winning the Cup promptly dismantled their team. They lost McDonald, Penner, Selanne and Bryzgalov and replaced them with older washed up players in Schneider, Weight and Bertuzzi. That's why you can't compare the to them Avs. The Avs kept the same team pretty much intact during their 6 year run. The Ducks years of being on top have ended. I'm not worried about them at all. With Dallas improving and San Jose finally getting rid of Wilson, I expect that the Duckies will have a hard time this year. Then we can stop talking about them.
