A bunch of friends and I are doing a fantasy hockey league this year and here's my team. I went HEAVY on goalies, taking goalies with my first 2 picks as they account for roughly 10% of the team, but 40% of the fantasy scoring.

We have 16 teams in our league, so we had to draft relatively deep, but I'm pretty happy with my team. Gotta hope Stamkos ends up being a phenom and Cheechoo comes back to form. I figure Schneider's +/- will probably suck, but he should get a good amount of points QBing for Kovakchuk, and Fedorov could have a great year playing with Ovie.

1. (8) Evgeni Nabokov - G - SJ

2. (25) Marty Turco - G - Dal

3. (40) Chris Pronger - D - Anh

4. (57) Corey Perry - RW - Anh

5. (72) Patrick Sharp - LW - Chi

6. (89) Jonathan Cheechoo - RW - SJ

7. (104) Scott Gomez - C - NYR

8. (121) Dustin Byfuglien - LW/D - Chi

9. (136) Brent Burns - D - Min

10. (153) Mathieu Schneider - D - Atl

11. (168) Steven Stamkos - C - TB

12. (185) Tomas Holmstrom - RW - Det

13. (200) Mike Modano - C - Dal

14. (217) Brad Stuart - D - Det

15. (232) Antoine Vermette - LW - Ott

16. (249) Joe Pavelski - C - SJ

17. (264) Jere Lehtinen - RW - Dal

18. (281) Sergei Fedorov - C - Was

Not bad IMO. I think the key is in a fantasy league is to pick from a wide variety of players from different teams, but I suck and I am always bias towards Red Wing players. Also I would rather get Finger(ed) than have Pronger on my fantasy team.

Fedorov and Schneider probably wont produce like you're hoping; the keys here, I think, are Vermette and Pavelski.
