timothy1997 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2008 I have heard rumblings around campus that two Coach Comley has suspended two players as a direct result of Sunday mornings antics. I have yet to hear who these two players are. I guess with all this cr@p going on, I would not be at all suprised to see MSU get swept this weekend by NMU. I expected that as well. Nice to get that 2-0 shutout win tho. I also was surprised that Michigan got their a$$ handed to them in the Boston U. game. I knew it was a tough game but definately thought it would be closer than 7-2. Basically our second PK unit got man-handled. BU had 6 of their 7 goals on the PP (ok, it was 5 out of 7, but a 6th goal was scored right when a penalty ended, so we still were "short handed") and our two top penalty killers (Rust and Hagelin) were out there for one goal combined. Stuff like that's gonna happen when you're down 3 of your top 4 dmen, and the 4th has an identity crisis about if he's a forward or not. They'll be fine. I was suprised to see Comley start Palmisano, who is a freshman, in that enviroment. Nice to get the win and be done with Western for the year. I was unable to make it up for the game this year due to going to the football game at State and then having to put together a lesson plan for a class I had to teach on Sunday Morning. T.Low 1,011 Report post Posted January 24, 2009 I randomly sent an email to a sports writer named Kurt Mensching after reading an online article he wrote about NMU Wildcat Hockey, asking about Butcher's absence and he said he was going to talk to the Wildcats coach later and would ask him for me. Carlson was playing his ass off last weekend. 49 saves plus stopping all the shootout attempts, along with a penalty shot save. I understand why Palmer doesn't play now. Enjoy last place, pricks... I hope to God that Kampfer is ok. I can't even imagine getting assaulted (and let's be realistic, that's what it was...I'm not necessarily saying "file criminal charges" because I'm really on the fence about how I feel about that sort of thing in general, but it was an assault that happened to take place on a hockey rink) and ending up in a neck brace twice in 3 months. Rumors are that it was Kampfer's dad. If so, you'd like to see a better reaction, and depending on what actually happened he very well could have crossed the line (I don't have a problem if he just went in there and bitched the players out), but at the same time, I can't say I would have done anything different. Tropp got 2 DQs, which is a three game suspension (1 for the first DQ, 2 for the second). Bare minimum, that needs to be doubled. I really feel that based on his history of being a knucklehead, Conboy should be gone. Tropp should probably get the rest of the season. 10 games would be appropriate, but they've probably only got 12 games left anyway so you might as well send a message. "Suspended for the season" sounds a lot better than 10 games, even if it's not a whole lot more in terms of games. I gotta run, so I don't have time to dig up the link, but there is a video or two on Youtube (not a great one in either case). Multiple games? I would tell Conboy to pack his bags, and get lost. It's not the first time he's been a moron on the ice, and if he sticks around there will be more of idiotic stuff from him. I know the game of hockey can get real intense, especially in a game with rivals playing each other, but I don't know how someone can slash a guy who looks like he's dead. I know they pretty much everything from last year except Lerg, but I still thought Lerg could make them look better then the talent they had. Now that I seen the video WTF. Apparently Conboy is no longer at MSU, the other guy needs to be given kicked off the team. Kampfer's father has been given a Criminal Trespass Warning (or whatever they call it in MI) that he's not allowed on campus.
