The Griffins finally take to the ice again for only their second game of the season. Its been a week since their last game and during practice theyve placed a big emphasis on the PP and getting more shots off as well as creating some traffic in front of the net. Ironically they will again face the Lake Erie Monsters with the hope of extracting some revenge after their season opening OT loss.

Possible line-up (subject to change):

Leino - Abdelkader - Tardif
Wilson - Pare - Gelech
Emmerton - McGrath - Mursak
Lemieux - Oulahen - Downey

Ericsson - Pyett
Atherton - Kolosov
Galvin - Kindl

Larsson
Howard

Team Leaders:

Goals: Abdelkader, Leino, Oulahen (1)
Assists: 6 tied (1)
Points: 9 tied (1)
Penalty Minutes: Ericsson, PJ Atherton (4)

Notes:

Howard back on the ice and has practiced the past few days. However Larsson is expected to get the start.
Darren Helm still up with the Wings and therefore wont play.
Dont think Mattias Ritola practiced yesterday, not sure what the story is there. Hopefully he plays and if he does is on a scoring line.
The first of back-to-back games as the Griffins play again tomorrow.

Ken Holland: Hes (Mursak) a young guy, provides energy, can skate, hes a puck hound.

Is Kindl really on the 3rd pairing? And Emmerton - McGrath - Mursak line should be better than the 3rd. Pure scoring-line in my opinion.

Let's hope that the Griffins will take this!

"He was benched in the playoffs. That doesn't sound like "one of the five best defensemen in the west" to me.

Nice to see Leino pick up an assist and finish as a +1.

Well done to the Griffins on getting the win, especially when you considering they got down 3-1 early in the 3rd. thumbup.gif

Abdelkader goal and an assist, 3 points in 2 games. Ritola also off to a fast start and my man Kindl now with 2 points in 2 games.

Ken Holland: Hes (Mursak) a young guy, provides energy, can skate, hes a puck hound.

I had some friends at the game. According to them, the fight was just throw off the gloves, then let Downey pick him up and throw him to the ice.

3 pts in 2 games is good enough for me. Let's see what they do in today's game.
When life passes you by, downshift.
Go Griffins!
