TheXym 2,606 Report post Posted August 27, 2014 (edited) We finished last school year on June 20, I've been back for in-service since Thursday, kids come back tomorrow. Such is life when you had 14 snow days. It's the shortest summer break of my life, as a student or an educator. The person below me is a BBQ addict. puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted August 27, 2014 I am not, although I live in Texas where they think only they can cook brisket. TPBM is losing hope fast...
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted August 27, 2014 For this life, I have never had any. The person below me forgets that tires need to get rotated until someone reminds them.
puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted August 28, 2014 I had mine rotated the other day, only because my mechanic offered while he was fixing $650 worth of other things. Now it drives weird, because I should have done it sooner. The person below me has relatives they've never met.
Kira 451 Report post Posted August 28, 2014 Oh very true. I supposedly have a brother-in-law named Sam. One of Terry's half brothers on his dad's side. First of all, you have to understand that his dad was married four times, and so was his mom. Okay, so that established... I've been married to the boss for almost 37 years. In all that time, I have never seen this person or talked to him. He could come up to me on the street and I would not know him from Joe Blow. I call him "vaporware". You know what that is...stuff that is supposed to exist, but doesn't. That's Sam. TPBM uses their smart phone more than their computer because it's more reliable. puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted August 28, 2014 I might, if my phone were smarter. Computer is reliable, but not always handy. The person below me would love to go on vacation.
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted August 28, 2014 If I had the time and money, I'd have things around the house that I'd rather do. The person below me was raised to finish everything on their plate and now has difficulty leaving food uneaten without guilt because children are starving in (insert demographic here). MabusIncarnate 5,343 Report post Posted August 30, 2014 I was under this logic until I got a dog, the pitiful eyes of a "starving" dog make me weak and force me to share. The person below me has been surprised by a sighting of an insect or animal they didn't know lived in their region.
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted August 30, 2014 I keep hearing cicadas every once in a while. I'm sure that's what they are. What else could they be? No one in this vast tundra knows what they are, but I swear I hear them. The person below me liked algebra. (just wondering if that's possible)
puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted August 30, 2014 I loved it, and geometry and calculus. I should have been an engineer. Now I just play one at work for the past 20 years and am better at it than the dudes with degrees. Girls weren't supposed to study engineering back when I was in college... perhaps I will go back when I retire and get my degree... just to prove something. The person below me would rather be watching hockey.
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted September 1, 2014 I'd kind of rather be sleeping, but hockey is an excellent second choice. The person below me has eaten poutine.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted September 1, 2014 Nope. The person below me enjoys saunas.
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted September 1, 2014 I haven't been in one for a long time. My ex-bf's dad had one that he built in the basement. It was awesome. The person below me has over 100,000 miles on their vehicle.
MabusIncarnate 5,343 Report post Posted September 1, 2014 I have over 200,000 miles on my SUV. I'll keep driving it until it dies on me and then i'll move on. The person below me is watching the Lions in their NFL season opener.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted September 2, 2014 I will be. The person below me doesn't expect much for the Lions this season.
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted September 2, 2014 I never do, and yet I always expect them to win the Superbowl until they're mathematically eliminated.Just like I do with the Wings (substitute Cup for Bowl, of course). The person below me catches themselves doing things on one part of the internet that they do on another part.(Example: I hit "enter" here and expect it to post because that's how Facebook works.) Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted September 3, 2014 I've done things similar to that. You see someone you used to know from high school but weren't that close to - say hi to them or ignore?
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted September 6, 2014 Nod in acknowledgment and keep walking. If I really didn't like them, I'll ignore them. (Of course since I live far from where I went to high school, it's much more likely that I'll run into someone from grade school or college, so I used that as my reference instead.) If they want to talk to me, I'll be polite and chat. The person below me has lived their life in the same area.
LeftWinger 4,908 Report post Posted September 10, 2014 not only did I live my first 42 years in the same area, I also bought my parents house. So I never moved out of there since 1971, they moved and I bought it. Even my kids went to the same elementary school I went to. In 2013, we moved to Hart, Mi. 230 miles away from where I lived and grew up and started my family. the person below me hates flying and would rather drive, even if it were over 2000 miles. (I know I would!)
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted September 10, 2014 If given the choice, I'd usually rather fly a great distance rather than drive. Plane tickets may be expensive, but so is gas, and the difference won't be that much. The person below me wishes they could have seen Aerosmith last night with me. 55fan 5,133 Report post Posted September 12, 2014 I've seen them twice. I'd do it again. The person below me is afraid to hope for the Lions for fear of jinxing them.
Euro_Twins 4,469 Report post Posted September 15, 2014 I've seen them twice. I'd do it again. The person below me is afraid to hope for the Lions for fear of jinxing them. Actually I'm a Broncos fan, so I have no cares for the lions desperate pleas to win. The person below me is a dog lover
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted September 16, 2014 I do love dogs. I'm more of a hamster lover, but I do love dogs. The person below me has stubbed their toe within the last week.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted September 17, 2014 Can't say I have. The person below me is enjoying a cold one (or a few) right now.
Euro_Twins 4,469 Report post Posted September 17, 2014 Can't say I have. The person below me is enjoying a cold one (or a few) right now. If by cold one you mean cold September morning. Then yes. Getting ready for work. The person below me is excited for Halloween
