scottdware 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2008 The Wings started off great last night, but again, gave up a couple of goals late in the game to give Atlanta a chance at a comeback. I know its early, and I'm sure that it will get fixed as the season goes on, but this is not a trend that I like seeing. I want to see us finish out games like we did last season, strong, and focused. It seems like a few seasons ago, when we would get a lead, just kind of sit on it and not keep playing like it was 0-0. Thoughts? while I agree, last night wasn't that bad because one of the goals was 5 on 3, there's not a whole lot you can do there so that on wasn't just the result of sloppy playing, but yah overalll, the team just needs to start playing 60 minutes again but they had that problem alot last season as well and even during the playoffs at times, so really it's nothing extremely new when you think about it. I'm sure things will only get better and better over time, our offense seems to be clicking now so our d should be next.
Dawgs 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2008 Yea they are still off and on but the off part is becoming less frequent. I suspect they may come together on this road trip and be closer to mid season form when they return. Five games in 7 days with two back to backs against your top division rival and a couple teams that like to call themselves contenders is a tough trip. They better come together or it could be ugly. Come home with a few wins and momentum is with you heading towards the quarter pole.
SwedeLundin77 460 Report post Posted October 25, 2008 Well right now it all boils down to defensive lapses. For example, and I hope I'm not the only one who has noticed this, but whenever you see another team scorea goal on us, it's typically been a nice pass from behind the net. We aren't pinning those guys to the boards back there and subsequently they are getting time to make those passes out. At any rate, I trust that we'll have this all under control soon enough! Blood On The Ice 15 Report post Posted October 25, 2008 Guys, that has been their M.O. for years. Every time they get a decent lead, they sit back on their loins and to take it easy. Nothing new there.
