Hi guys,
Most of you know me, i've been on this board for a long time and if you're like me you check this page once or twice a day out of sheer habit.
It was one of those times three years ago that i got hooked up with quite possibly the best sim league on the net:http://whatthepuck.freeforums.org/portal.php
We use NHL 09 to sim a living, breathing hockey league complete with a cap, free agency, line editing and stats for your players. The people who run this site have been simming EA games since nhl 07 so know in advance that this is not a "here today" kind of site. It's great fun and an awesome way to pass the time between hockey games.
In order to play you need to be able to say yes to the following
Can you check your personal messages once a day
Do you have a detailed knowledge of the NHL and it's players
will you, or do you already have ICQ (we use to talk trade amongst ourselves)
If you can say yes to those three things you'd make a good GM
Recently we've had several gm's step down leaving 4 teams open
edmonton
NYI
Minnesota
Flordia
If you are intrested in a team and who is on that particular roster (remember FA so the rosters are quite different) PM me and i'll be glad to show you the ropes. We have several LGW players on the board as well along with fans of nearly every team.

I love Maltby, but to say he wasn't a ****** is a dis-service to his career of douchebaggery.

Rosters are not reset and there is a FA period after each season. I recommend joining up, it's a well run league with a good group of people. I've been involved in it and it's predecessor over the last few years, very enjoyable.
Not a huge amount to explain, take over a GM-less team, set their lines and tactics and try to win a cup. Trading is allowed and like I said earlier there is FA pool which is added to every off-season as contracts run out. A salary cap is in place ($60m as it stands), so you do have to manage finances a bit, there is an excel spreadsheet available that helps with managing your cap number.
People are asked to be as active as possible, writing short blogs about their team etc.
Any other questions PM myself or theman19.

We use NHL 11 to sim a living, breathing hockey league complete with a cap, free agency, line editing and stats for your players. The people who run this site have been simming EA games since nhl 07 so know in advance that this is not a "here today" kind of site. ill take montreal. can you explain more to me plz tell me if they not avalible
yeah montreal was just taken man
pheonix
islanders
panthers
I would take the islanders. you would have tavares to build around.
we will be using nhl 11 to sim, the guys who sim have been doing it since 07 so they now what they are doing. trades, free agency, salary cap, you name it we got it.
biggest thing though is that you need to know NHL/AHL players and prospects quite well so guys don't try to rip you off in trades. you also need to be able to log in almost everyday to check your PM's, edit lines, make trades and signings etc.
if there is anything else you need to know just let me know.
if you are still interested I will take you through the process of signing up for the league and becoming a GM
also to everyone else there are still 3 teams available get them while they last!!!!!!!! This is a great community to join if your like me and are bored at school or work, there is nothing better than killing some time on WTP sim league.

We're in our 19th season currently so don't pick a team based on who plays their currently, chances are they don't anymore. Here are a few stars from these teams. Our league is very dynamic, we do draft picks and have a live draft once a year. We have RFA age, Free agency, trading and training camps for your young players, you won't find a deeper hockey sim league.
Here's some of the notable stars on each of our open teams
Dallas-Neal,callahan-Del zotto, smid Igilna, Halak
NYI-Nash Backes, Rutuu, jack johnson, C. Anderson
