Me too. Afflalo plays tough defense and he has really improved his jumper from last season. That was one (of the few) draft classes recently that actually worked out for the Pistons.

Oh, and Allen Iverson is just incredible. I knew it before, but man I have a whole new appreciation for AI watching him on a nightly basis. He took over in the third quarter last night and got the Pistons back in the game. We haven't had a player like that since Grant Hill.

QUOTE
AUBURN HILLS -- The Detroit Pistons were defeated 106-80 by a bad Minnesota Timberwolves team Sunday, but not everything was bad for Detroit.

They received a bit of good news from Antonio McDyess, who informed the Pistons that, as expected, he will re-sign with them next month.

McDyess was part of the four-player trade with Denver earlier this month that brought Allen Iverson to Detroit.

"We looked at two or three different scenarios besides Detroit," McDyess' agent, Andy Miller, said in a phone interview Sunday night. "Antonio felt he started something in Detroit, and felt an obligation to his teammates, the fans and the organization, to finish it."

Great news. smile.gif

To say the Pistons need 'Dyess back would be a major understatement. The Pistons have essentially no scoring off the bench from the frontcourt without McDyess.

Wow, what is it with Sunday and the Pistons?

0-5 in games on Sunday.

11-3 in games every other day of the week.

Things are getting ugly for the Pistons. I'm already counting down the days until Iverson is gone. Just got to keep thinking about the massive amount of $$$ we'll have to spend at seasons end.

Stuckey is playing well though, that's one positive.

The Iverson experiment is looking like an epic fail right now.... it's brutal to watch.

Stuckey's last 4 games:

15.5 points, 10 assists per game.

He's been awesome since they kicked Brown out of the starting line-up and went small. Stuckey must start. thumbup.gif

The Pistons are going out in the first round this season.

Clearly, Allen Iverson is not "The Answer" for this team.

Agree, but 21 million dollars worth of free money could be this summer......

Yeah, that's true. I try to keep that in mind, but it's tough to accept this season is over when the Pistons have set the bar so high in expectations with their recent success. I feel bad for Rip the most - AI has really seemed to throw Rip out of sync completely.

The Pistons need to let AI and Sheed walk after this year. More than anything else, the Pistons need a legitimate scoring big man. The Pistons have relied for far too long on jump shooting because they have no frontcourt player that can (or is willing ... Rasheed) post up and score in the paint. The Pistons backcourt has a great core with Stuckey, Rip, and Afflalo. Maxiell and Johnson are role players. I love McDyess, but he isn't exactly young. The Pistons passed on Chris Bosh for Darko - I would think he would be a perfect fit for the Pistons when he becomes a free agent.

I can't believe how badly this team sucks.

Fire Curry. Hurry up and trade Iverson, I don't think I can even wait till the end of the season he's that bad. Release Wallace.

We have almost no young talent. We're going to be a bad team for a long, long time. I hope we miss the playoffs and get a good draft pick. Missing the playoffs might be a wake up call to make changes and finally get some youth on board.

Don't agree on the second part. You can turn a NBA team around in one season see the Celtics. You may not think the Pistons have much young talent, but I would say it is a lot better off then several other teams with Johnson, Maxiel, and Stuckey. Also remember we will have 30+ million dollars in cap relief. I really think Joe D is waiting for Chris Bosh in 2 summers, and just trying to get pieces together right now.

I do agree on your other points. Curry needs to get lost, and a lottery pick would be great.

Did you guys read Michael Lewis' article about Shane Battier? It's pretty interesting.

I wish the Pistons had an offense that required defending.
