And as far as strategy, it's not that I don't understand it. It's that it's not there. Sitting your pitcher after a few innigns is not a real "strategy."

Yes it is. Baseball pitchers don't wear ice bags and tapes on their shoulders after they pitch because it looks cool. If you threw a ball as hard as you can close to 100 times at speeds of 80+ mph, your arm is going to get tired and your shoulder is going to get sore.

And that soreness doesn't just magically go away overnight. If I workout and jog a few miles really hard, sometimes my legs are still sore a day later, and that's even after proper stretching and the like, and I'm nowhere close to being a professional athlete. You just get sore and your muscles need time to recover sometimes.

Relief pitchers often throw even harder because they know their innings and playing time is more limited.

You have to manage your pitchers accordingly because of this.

Baseball isn't my favorite sport but to say it has no strategy or that it is fake is absurd and asinine.

interesting. the stats are skewed, however, because 6 of the nhl's 30 teams are canadian. how does attendance compare between the sports in the US alone i wonder.

Well, there is nothing but positives for the Toronto Raptors. Maybe they're not better than, say, the Leafs (for obvious reasons) in TV ratings department, but certainly their fans (given being around the top of the league in ticket/season ticket sales) come to the ACC to support their team.

So this is me drunk logic Doc since it is 530 am where i am, and btw I agree with you on HFboards alot!, if you think about it its is 60 Gs timse 30 teams hwich is almost 2 millions in extra league revenuee that could be eaned plus pakring and suhc for the gamse, maybe that could be enough to keep the cap where it is or even raise it an extra millions? Go wings!!1

Well considering a lot of teams (the Wings especially) make a large amount of money on Jersey sales and other things I don't see how the NBA making 60k per season more per team is something the NHL should be worrying about. The great thing about a salary cap is the expenses per team have a ceiling, which allows for teams to make a huge profit.

I always feel the same way when I start a discussion, and I laugh everytime a discussion starts this way. Matt and the boys run a such a tight ship here that many of us are worried when we start something.

We're not that bad/tight. However, it does get annoying for everyone when someone says they didn't see a topic posted and its duplicate is the 2nd or 3rd one on the front page.

An extra $2 million in consolidated league revenues would raise the cap by a grand total of $36,000. In other words....it would make no difference at all.
